  • Patent number: 9614398
Abstract: A public telephone powered by a solar panel system and configured to transmit and receive calls over a cellular network is provided. A solar panel systems and wireless unit are retrofitted to conventional public telephones to convert them to wireless operation and to enable operations independent of the electrical grid and from the local telephone exchange.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2013
Date of Patent: April 4, 2017
    Assignee: RENEWABLE EDGE, LLC
Inventors: Richard C. Contrata, Jr., Richard C. Contrata, III, David J. Schaffer
  • Publication number: 20160270563
Abstract: A solar power system that generates a power supply for features of a shopping cart corral is provided. In particular, a shopping cart corral has a self-contained solar power system for powering, directly by the corral or indirectly by the shopping carts, at least one of a personal device recharging system, lighting system, and advertising system.

  • Publication number: 20130003274
Abstract: A photovoltaic panel racking system with integrated grounding bars integrated with an extruded integrated rail. The integrated grounding bar enables grounding of photovoltaic panels to a racking system without the use of additional parts or tools. When photovoltaic panels are installed onto an integrated rail, the grounding bars perforate the anodized coating of the frame of the photovoltaic panels to make metal to metal contacts. The grounding bar may be attached to the underside of solar panel frames. Further, an integrated grounding bar rail reduces the number of roof penetration connections necessary for safe grounding of a photovoltaic system. In a ballast mounted photovoltaic panel system, ballast pans may be used to connect the integrated rails between adjacent rows of photovoltaic panels, thereby further reducing the number of grounding points needed to ground the system.
