The multilayer laminate system includes a weather resistive barrier, drainage mat, and facer material as one application to be used within building structures to prevent moisture damage. In addition, the multilayer laminate system and method is configured to create a water resistive envelope at building material interfaces.

The wood preservative is formulated as a paste and is applied in that form to an exposed surface of the member. The active ingredient is released by that same moisture which creates conditions conducive to destructive attacks on the wood. Boron-based active ingredients are preferred as are polyethylene glycol carriers for the active ingredient.
