  • Patent number: 7357891
Abstract: The invention relates to film products containing desired levels of active components and methods of their preparation. Desirably, the films disintegrate in water and may be formed by a controlled drying process, or other process that maintains the required uniformity of the film. Desirably, the films may be exposed to temperatures above that at which the active components typically degrade without concern for loss of the desired activity.

  • Publication number: 20080050422
Abstract: The invention relates to a fast-dissolving film product containing at least one drug; and a water soluble polymer composition. The invention further relates to methods of administering the film product. The method includes administering the film to the oral cavity of a subject in need of the drug; and administering a fluid in the oral cavity while the film is present therein to substantially dissolve the film and form a solution or dispersion thereof to be ingested by the subject. Desirably, ingestion of the thus-formed solution or dispersion provides increased blood levels of the drug as compared to the film taken without the fluid.

  • Publication number: 20070172515
Abstract: The present invention relates to multi-component delivery systems that adhere to mucosal tissue. In particular, the delivery systems include a first delivery vehicle and a second delivery vehicle, which is in association with the first delivery vehicle. The first delivery vehicle may be one or more mucoadhesive films, which may adhere to the mucosal tissue. The second delivery vehicle may contain at least one active substance, such as a pharmaceutical active, for delivery via the mucosal tissue.

  • Patent number: 7127418
Abstract: Methods provide for auditing of on-line commercial transactions to determine what products are the primary motivations for a customer to begin an on-line shopping session. When a purchase is made during a shopping session, the method determines whether a purchased product is related to a previous “prime motivator” product. If so, the product is designated as a derivative product and a derivative count associated with the product is incremented. If not, the product itself is designated a prime motivator product and a prime motivator count associated with the product is incremented. The method may be repeated for every purchase fielded by an on-line commercial site.

  • Publication number: 20020068082
Abstract: A n oral delivery composition and method are provided for facilitating the swallowing of a solid object such as a pill, tablet, capsule or caplet. The oral delivery composition is made up of a mixture of a base liquid and at least one additive. The additive is selected and is present in the oral delivery composition in a sufficient concentration such that the oral delivery composition has improved physical properties, in comparison with the base liquid, so that when the oral delivery composition and a solid object to be swallowed by a user are administered together to the user and swallowed, the solid object is less likely to become lodged or stuck on tongue, throat, palate or esophageal surfaces of the user, in comparison to when the base liquid and the solid object are administered together and swallowed.
