  • Patent number: 4917355
Abstract: An improved stop valve eliminates the need for O-rings and washers. The valve contains a one piece unitary stem formed of resilient compressible plastic material. The stem contains three separate seals and fits within, extends through and is moveable in a valve sleeve. Operating the handle moves the stem axially between a first axial position in which the valve is fully open and a second axial position in which the valve is fully closed. The first seal is operative to provide a seal responsive to said stem being in the first axial position, the second seal means is operative to provide a seal responsive to said stem being in the second axial position, and the third seal is operative to seal in all axial positions.

  • Patent number: 4848600
Abstract: A one piece self closing dispensing valve of molded polymer material is used in combination with a beverage container. The valve is of the kind containing a movable actuator which in response to a force applied thereto by a user, such as pressure exerted by the users finger, opens the valve to dispense liquid under force of gravity. A leaf spring operable over the range of actuator movement and normally biasing the actuator responds to the withdrawl of the applied force to return the actuator to its normal position and thereby close the valve. An integral dripless spout is defined between the actuator and the valve body; the effective size of which is inversly dependent on the position of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 4751935
Abstract: An artificial fingernail or tip formed of polymer plastic contains light diffusing means located only within the front distal portion, the light diffusing means including, a plurality of minute depressions within and throughout at least the upper surface of said polymer strip for providing a textured roughened surface to obtain a natural appearing contrast between the front distal portion and the back proximal portion of the nail. In an additional aspect, the appearance is further enhanced by inclusion of slight pigmentation of the plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4440327
Abstract: A dispensing closure having a dispensing passage in an outlet spout is provided for use with an associated container. The unitary dispensing closure has a rigid base with a seal surface and latch surface, and a spout with a dispensing passage, a dispensing end and a first end connected with the base with seal means on the first end of the spout about the passage. The outlet spout is connected to the base by a hinge connected with an invertible diaphragm and by a second hinge interconnecting the invertible diaphragm to the base at a bi-sector plane. The diaphragm is in convexed configuration when the spout is in dispensing position and in concaved configuration when the spout is in sealed position, the spout in moving to sealed position pivoting about a pivot line, thus collapsing the invertible diaphragm through the bi-sector plane to seat the seal against the base seal surface and urge the dispensing end of the spout to abut the base latch surface in sealing relationship.
