  • Patent number: 4286752
Abstract: A model track section including a bed of generally rectangular cross-sectional outline, and a vertical wall of rectangular cross section on each side edge of the bed arranged with the lower edge of each wall spaced above the underside of the bed to define a rectangular recess configured to conformably receive a wall of a like track section with the underside of the bed substantially engaging the bed of the like track section. This enables a substantially complete nesting relationship between superposed sections with the outer sides of the section walls defining vertical sides for conforming engagement of adjacent stacks of nesting sections.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 1979
Date of Patent: September 1, 1981
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4254577
Abstract: A model vehicle of the steerable road racing type for confined movement along a trough type roadway or track of plural land width including a dirigible wheeled chassis carrying a drive motor, a clutch mechanism operative to drive the wheeled running gear continuously in forward direction upon actuation of the motor in opposite directions, and an operating mechanism steering the running gear in opposite directions responsive to the motor running in opposite directions for controlling vehicle movement between lanes and along a selected trough side wall.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 2, 1978
Date of Patent: March 10, 1981
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4231517
Abstract: A model track section including a bed or plate and a plurality of end projections on each end arranged so that the end projections of one section enter into the spaces between end projections of a like section with the sections in end to end aligned relation, the upper bed section having open ended slots which open into the recesses between projections, and conductive strips or rails in the slots and projecting therefrom into the recesses between projections for wiping engagement with conductive strips of a like track section upon entering into end to end aligned relation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 1977
Date of Patent: November 4, 1980
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4219153
Abstract: A track section for model trains and the like including a non-conductive bed supporting a pair of conductive rails, the bed including on each end an extension and receiver for entry into and reception of end receivers and extensions of like beds, resilient formations for snap interfitting engagement between like track beds, and rail connectors for electrical conduction between rails of adjacent beds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 1978
Date of Patent: August 26, 1980
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4203548
Abstract: A model track section for model vehicles including a first formation on each end having one side facing laterally, an obliquely disposed resilient element on the one side of each first formation and deflectable toward the latter, a complementary formation on each end of the body engageable with a resilient element to effect the lateral deflection upon end-to-end engagement with a like track section, a guide on the section ends for constraining like sections to aligned longitudinal movement, and retaining element on the track section ends for releasable retaining engagement with a like track section.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 1977
Date of Patent: May 20, 1980
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4185409
Abstract: A teeter-totter or see-saw track section including a base part interposable in a track system and a super track part mounted on the base part for oscillation about a generally horizontal transverse axis, together with electrical connection means between the base and super track parts to enable an operator to effect powered control of a model vehicle on the super track part.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 17, 1978
Date of Patent: January 29, 1980
    Inventor: Richard C. M. Cheng
  • Patent number: 4084746
Abstract: A model track section for model vehicles releasably interengageable in end-to-end connection with a like track section, wherein an end formation is provided having one side facing generally laterally, and resilient means is located obliquely along the laterally facing side for resilient deflection laterally toward the formation upon end-to-end interengagement of like track sections.

  • Patent number: 4082220
Abstract: A sectional track construction wherein each section constitutes a generally flat body having at least one longitudinally extending conductor exposed upwardly and provided with end portions each extending beyond the adjacent lateral body portion on one side of the conductor, and an oblique cam at each end of the section for engagement with a like cam of a like section to urge the exposed conductor end portions into side-by-side facing engagement with conductor end portions of a like track section.
