  • Patent number: 4562674
Abstract: A replaceable foam insulation system is disclosed for a cavity in walls or a roof of a building structure. The system is sealed to ensure foam does not escape through vents from the cavity and can be easily destroyed without leaving a residue in the cavity. The system comprises at least one enclosed recirculating substantially horizontal passage within the cavity, means for recirculating air or gas through the passage in the cavity, and foam producing means in the passage positioned immediately downstream of the means for recirculating air or gas, the foam producing means and means for recirculating air or gas when operating together providing foam to substantially fill the passage in the cavity, and the means for recirculating air or gas when operating alone, destroying substantially all the foam in the passage.

  • Patent number: 4521458
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for coating a substratum sheet material, such as woven fabrics, by first removing from the substratum material any moisture that does normally exist therein, and then coating the substratum material with a coating composition with no moisture, air or other impurities being trapped between the substratum and the coating. Novel products produced by this process comprise new compositions of sheet materials having improved weathering characteristics including stability against ultraviolet degradation for improved service in highly transparent or translucent coverings for roofs and solar devices.

  • Patent number: 4458755
Abstract: In injecting an aqueous alkaline liquid to displace an acidic oil within a subterranean reservoir, damage due to dissolving silica in or around a well is avoided by providing the alkaline solution with an amount of soluble silicate particularly suited for the reservoir conditions.

  • Patent number: 4452230
Abstract: A canopy system for a building structure is disclosed which may be utilized with a climate control system within a building. The canopy system has at least one tubular panel formed of flexible impermeable sheet material, the panel including an open ended hollow sleeve with two side walls, a top exterior sheet and a bottom interior sheet being joined sealed and having supports at the joins between the side walls and the top and bottom sheets. The top and bottom sheets extend across and are supported by the supports at each side of the panel by the building structure, one supported side of the panel being at a higher elevation than the other supported side of the panel, each end of the open ended hollow sleeve joined to a manifold system adapted to control pressure within the panel, and a liquid feed pipe within the panel at the supported side of the panel having the higher elevation.
