Openings may be formed in the bottom of the bowl for scraping wax and debris from the ear. The preferred openings are parallel slots. The preferred bowl has rounded, upper edges at the rim for scraping ear wax with the front, distal end at a lower height than a rear end of the bowl which is joined to a handle. The preferred handle may be fluted for gripping and turning the bowl when scraping ear wax. A flexible neck may join the bowl to the handle. A bulbous end of plastic or of cotton may be provided at the end of the device opposite the bowl. The referred cleaning device weighs less than one gram and is inexpensive.

Abstract: A manually set bar code generating device is easily attachable to a mail container such as an envelope. A housing rotatably mounts a series of concentric circular rings which are imprinted with bar code characters on one side and with alphanumeric characters on a diametrically opposite side. The housing includes diametrically opposed windows that expose a bar code character on one side while exposing its alphanumeric counterpart on the other side. Each single ring thus sets up a single character of a bar code sequence. The series of rings sets up the desired sequence of bar code characters in one window as the desired sequence of alphanumeric characters is dialed into place in the opposite window. The side-by-side rings are independently rotatable about a central axis of the housing. Rotation of the individual rings is accomplished by inserting a pointed instrument into one of a series of depressions in the ring.

Abstract: A disk composed of rigid open cell synthetic resin foam has a recess in one face for being occupied by fertilizer. A water permeable plug of similar foam is inserted in the recess to retain the fertilizer and to serve as a wick for conducting fertilizer dissolved in water out of the recess and into the bottom hole of a plant pot standing on the disk for the fertilizer to permeate the soil in the pot. The fertilizer is preferably composed of pellets coated with water permeable resin. In use the disk is set in a reservoir and covered with water.

Abstract: A phonograph record holder comprising a substantially dust-proof flat, circular case including separable sections each adapted to carry a group of stacked records, locking means operable to secure the records in each case section when that section is removed from the other with its own side down, to facilitate handling of the record stacks when placing them on or removing them from the spindles of automatic record changers, and spring presser members operable to maintain the stacks under compressive pressure to inhibit warpage of the records.
