  • Patent number: 6650241
Abstract: A perimeter monitoring system intended for the enhanced safety of children includes a receiver communicating with a plurality of transmitters worn by the monitored individuals within a predefined perimeter area surrounded by a perimeter loop antenna. A periodic transmission is sent by each transmitter to the receiver as confirmation that the child is presently within the desired area. The system will alarm the operator and provide an indication identifying any one of the monitored children that either leaves the predefined perimeter or enters a restricted area.

  • Patent number: 6427260
Abstract: A faucet thermal monitoring system for verifying the temperature of water being delivered through a faucet. The faucet thermal monitoring system includes a housing which is couplable to a spout of a faucet and thermally conductive such that heat is conducted between water flowing through the spout and the housing and a liquid crystal temperature panel coupled to the housing providing a visual indication of the temperature of the water flowing through the tap.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 29, 2000
Date of Patent: August 6, 2002

  • Patent number: 4040045
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting theft of television sets from motels and similar establishments which provide unattended television sets and service as a convenience for customers. The invention uses existing trunk lines utilized in a master antenna television system (MATV) for transmitting television signals to the sets, and does not require installation of additional conductors. A source of low 60 Hertz voltage is applied to each of the trunk lines, and there is associated with each television set a resistor. When the connection of a set to a trunk line is disturbed, the disturbance is detected as a change in resistance and the level of 60 Hz current flowing through the trunk line is caused to change. This change in current is detected at a central location to create an alarm condition. An audible alarm is also created at the location of the television set which was disturbed.
