  • Patent number: 5727493
Abstract: A boat bumper includes an elongated pipe encased in an injection molded material and having a pair of elongated spaced apart pads affixed to a rearward side of the body. Each pad has a generally V-shaped notch formed therein for receiving the bow edge of a boat. A bracket has a head portion extending around the pipe and is located between the two pads, the bracket having a pair of legs projecting rearwardly outwardly through the casing, to receive the eye on the bow of a boat therebetween. A ring is mounted on the bracket and projects diametric to the legs through the casing and forwardly from the body. The casing is formed of a fluorescent colored injection molded material, and the pads are formed of a resilient compressible material to cushion dynamic impacts thereon.

  • Patent number: 4232990
Abstract: This invention relates to a winch-actuated extendable tongue for boat trailers and the like that is characterized by the winch being so located and reaved with respect to a pair of telescoping elements that it is effective to positively drive the tongue into extended as well as retracted position regardless of whether the load thereon is such as to extend or retract same. More specifically, the winch is mounted on the outer of the two telescoping elements for movement therewith and its cable is reaved from an initial point of attachment on the inner of said telescoping elements, around the winch drum several turns, over a pulley on the end of the outer element remote from the initial point of attachment, back again toward the latter to a second pulley on the adjacent end of the outer element, around the second pulley and toward the remote end of the outer element again to a second point of attachment on the inner element.

  • Patent number: 3955582
Abstract: This invention relates to an obstetrical tool for animals and, more specifically, to an improved calf puller characterized by a crank-operated winch mechanism coupled with a pair of telescoping tubes and a system of pulleys that cooperate with one another upon actuation to nearly double the distance over which the load is drawn in comparison to the overall length of the assembly in collapsed condition. The winch itself is mounted for slidable movement along the outside tube of the telescoped pair and during the first half of the retraction stroke it migrates from a close-in position adjacent the cow's hindquarters to a remote position at the far end of the assembly in collapsed condition. During the second half of the stroke, the winch and outer telescoped tube no longer move relative to one another but instead move as a unit relative to the inside tube as they slide outwardly therealong.
