  • Patent number: 4405797
Abstract: This invention is a novel chemical process particularly concerned with N-dealkylation of secondary amines as found in amino-cylitols of which spectinomycin is an example. Separation and further alkylation also comprise the present invention process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 1981
Date of Patent: September 20, 1983
    Assignee: The Upjohn Company
    Inventor: Richard C. Thomas
  • Patent number: 4351771
Abstract: Anomers and asteric mixtures of novel analogs of spectinomycin. Additionally provides novel intermediates and process for preparing spectinomycin and analogs thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 1980
Date of Patent: September 28, 1982
    Assignee: The Upjohn Company
Inventors: David R. White, Richard C. Thomas
  • Patent number: 4295095
Abstract: A method of detection of inaccessible metallic objects such as gas, electricity, water or telecommunications systems (lines) through which an alternating current is flowing, comprises making at least three spatially separated measurements of the magnetic field associated with the current. Signals derived from the measurements are compared in a detector which gives an output indication when the signals derived from the measurements at the two outer locations are equal and each less than the signal derived from the measurement at the intermediate location.A suitable sensing device has four equally spaced pickup coils and operates at a frequency of 43KHz. The alternating current detected in the metallic objects may be induced by a separate transmitter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 1979
Date of Patent: October 13, 1981
    Assignee: British Gas Corporation
Inventors: Richard C. Thomas, Stewart M. Pegler, Paul B. Cordes
  • Patent number: 3998827
Abstract: 6-Amino-1,2-dihydro-1-hydroxy-2-iminopyrimidines, their carboxyacylated counterparts, and the corresponding acid addition salts thereof are disclosed. These compounds, useful inter alia as antihypertensive agents, are substituted in the 4-position and optionally in the 5-position, the substituent in the 4-position being oxygen bearing secondary or tertiary amino moiety.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 27, 1975
Date of Patent: December 21, 1976
    Assignee: The Upjohn Company
Inventors: Richard C. Thomas, Jr., Harry Harpootlian
