  • Patent number: 12005113
Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel nucleotide and amino acid sequences of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (“PEDV”), including novel genotypes thereof, all of which are useful in the preparation of vaccines for treating and preventing diseases in swine and other animals. Vaccines provided according to the practice of the invention are effective against multiple swine PEDV genotypes and isolates. Diagnostic and therapeutic polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are also a feature of the present invention, as are infectious clones useful in the propagation of the virus and in the preparation of vaccines. Particularly important aspects of the invention include polynucleotide constructs that replicate in tissue culture and in host swine. The invention also provides for novel full length PEDV genomes that can replicate efficiently in host animals and tissue culture.

  • Publication number: 20240068196
Abstract: A wedge locking element (10) for a locking device of a quick coupler A for coupling the pin P2 of an attachment to earth working machinery. The wedge locking element (10) has a sloping wedge surface (13). Projecting from the wedge surface (13) is an engagement surface (12) with which the attachment pin P2 can engage but not apply any substantial driving force to the wedge locking element (10) in the event of failure of a force maintaining the wedge locking element (10) in a position where the pin P2 is retained with the coupler A. The pin engagement surface (12) lies in a plane that is substantially in line with the direction in which the locking element (10) is, in use, moved by the driving force.

  • Patent number: 6544472
Abstract: A method of forming an orthopedic implant having a porous surface layer thereon. A mask includes a cut-out configured to receive a portion of the implant therein. The implant is placed within the cut-out and thereby masked. A water soluble binder solution is sprayed onto at least a part of the unmasked portion of the implant using a sprayer, thereby forming a binder layer on the implant. The binder solution includes water, ethanol, gelatin, glycerin, and a colorant. A porous layer including a plurality of metallic particles is contacted with the binder layer. The porous layer is bonded with the surface of the implant with a sintering process.

  • Patent number: 6092522
Abstract: An inhaler for inhaling pulverulent medicament from within a capsule comprises a chamber 24 within which the capsule is free to rotate while having its longitudinal axis in the median plane of the chamber and thus generally parallel to the front and rear walls 30 and 31 of the chamber, by virtue of the fact that the spacing between said front and rear walls is less than the axial length of the capsule but just greater than the diameter of the capsule. The device includes pins 21 serving as opening means to pierce the ends of the capsule while it is seated in a recess 25, whereupon the retraction of the pins 21 allows the capsule to be entrained into swirling airflow in the chamber 24 during inhalation of air through air inlets 26 and out through a mouthpiece nozzle 27.
