Abstract: Short or middle range capabilities are activated at a user device, if not already active, in response to receiving a first message initiated at the property device via a wireless wide range connection. a response message, indicating that the short or middle range capabilities of the user device are active, is transmitted to the property device, via a wireless wide range connection. In response to receiving a second message initiated at the property device and indicating a failed scanning for the user device by the property device via a wireless wide range connection, an alarm indicating movement of the property device and that the property device is located out of range for the short or middle range capabilities of the user device is activated at the user device. At the property device, failed scanning processe(s) triggers the property device to initiate alarm activation at the user device.

Abstract: Method and sensor observation system (200), for reporting observations to data users (204) based on sensor data collected (2:1) from a network of sensors (202). A first observation report that originates from a sensor in the network, is provided (2:4) to a first data user and a rating with respect to quality of the first observation report is received (2:5) from the first data user. Rating information is then created (2:8) based on the received rating, and a second observation report originating from the same sensor and comprising said rating information is provided (2:10) to a second data user. The comprised rating information thus indicates reliability of the second observation report. Thereby, the second data user is enabled to estimate and use the second observation report depending on its reliability as indicated by the rating information.

Abstract: A method for retrieving maps from a map server is disclosed where, as an intermediate step, map meta-data is requested on the basis of which one or more map can later be selected. Map meta-data on the basis of location data, indicating the location of the user device, and map criteria, specifying at least one condition for selecting maps which may be entered manually or automatically into a user device. The request is sent to a map server where a search for map meta-data matching the received location data and map criteria is executed. In case of at least one match between the map meta-data, the location data and the map criteria, map meta-data associated with at least one map is provided to the user device, such that the user device can select at least one map, which can be acquired from the map server, at least partly on the basis of the retrieved map meta-data.

Abstract: A method for aggregating demographic distribution information from a plurality of networks, the method comprising, in each network: monitoring the location of each of a plurality of user devices in each of a plurality of location areas; retrieving demographic information associated with a plurality of user devices; transmitting an indication of the demographic distribution for each location area to a data collector; the method further comprising: receiving the indications at the data collector and collating the information to generate an aggregated demographic distribution map.

The system includes an application server adapted for communication with a matching engine and the client device. The system comprises storage means adapted to store a media file, communication means adapted to send said media file to a plurality of user terminals, and to receive, from the user terminals, data indicating a guessed geographical position with which the user of each user terminal associates the media file. The system also comprises calculation means adapted to determine whether the media file is indicative of a geographical position based on the guessed geographical positions received from the plurality of user terminal.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved recommender system. In some embodiments, the recommender system automatically builds a user profile for a user based solely on the action or actions the user takes with respect to certain documents and the contents of the documents. That is, the profile is based on implicit ratings. In addition to maintaining a user profile for each user, each document in a set of documents will have its own document profile, which is also referred to as a document vector. Advantageously, in some embodiments, the user profile will consist of the same attributes as the document vectors. This advantageous feature enables the recommender system to compare users and documents in order to generate recommendations.

Abstract: A steam heated cooking pan comprises in combination a double-mantled food preparation vessel arranged above a steam generator which includes an outer vessel and an open bottom inner vessel enclosed in the outer vessel and in which are disposed steam generating electrodes. A steam exhaust opening is provided at the upper end of the inner vessel for supplying steam to the double-mantled vessel. Steam generation is automatically controlled by a movable cover opening and closing the steam exhaust opening in response to steam pressure sensed by a pressure sensitive member arranged below the outer vessel and coupled to the cover by an actuating rod passing through a tube secured to the bottom of the outer vessel and extending upwardly to the opening. The tube communicates the pressure sensitive member with the inner vessel and prevents contact between the water in the steam generator and the pressure sensitive member and actuating rod thereby preventing deposition of time thereon.
