  • Publication number: 20070228692
Abstract: A mobile emergency hospital comprises a first wheeled trailer and a second wheeled trailer parked alongside the first trailer such that adjacent side walls of the first and second trailers are arranged to confront each other. The first and second trailers have patient care equipment associated with first and second portions of the emergency hospital, respectively. The adjacent side walls of the two trailers have openings which are generally aligned with each other to form one or more passageways through which caregivers pass between the two trailers. The first trailer may include a plurality of wall units arranged along a non-adjacent side wall of the first trailer. Each such wall unit may include a plurality of service connectors and a foldout bed. The trailers may include expandable sections to provide additional floor space.

  • Publication number: 20070199262
Abstract: A modular wall system is provided for use in a healthcare facility to divide the available floor space into rooms and to support hospital equipment modules. The system includes a plurality of frame units configured to rest on the floor and extend vertically upwardly. The frame units form a grid of vertically and laterally spaced apart wall spaces having a predetermined height and a predetermined width. A plurality of patient care modules is configured to be positioned in the spaces to form a wall of the healthcare facility.

  • Publication number: 20070143922
Abstract: A patient-support apparatus includes a patient-support deck movable from a use position to a stowed position. The patient-support deck is configured to engage receivers of the patient-support apparatus to support the deck in a cantilevered configuration. The patient-support deck may be secured to the patient-support apparatus by a locking mechanism. A storage structure is configured to support the patient-support deck in a stowed position. The storage structure is configured to deflect under load to prevent damage to the storage structure or patient-support deck.

  • Publication number: 20060073713
Abstract: A patient flatwall system comprises a generally horizontal track extending generally parallel and adjacent to a wall of a hospital room, and at least one patient flatwall coupled to the track for movement therealong and for rotational movement relative thereto about a generally vertical axis. The at least one flatwall has a plurality of service connectors. In another embodiment, a patient flatwall system comprises a short telescopic arm having a proximal end coupled to the track for movement therealong, and a patient flatwall coupled to a distal end of the telescopic arm for rotational movement about a generally vertical axis.

  • Patent number: 6676272
Abstract: An interactive mirror for a motel or hotel automatically communicates with an individual staying in a room when the light in the room in which the mirror is mounted is turned on. The interactive mirror places the individual with room service, can be deactivated by the individual, permits light from a source positioned behind the mirror to be visible to the individual when the individual stands in front of the mirror, and permits audio and visual communication with the individual.

  • Publication number: 20030005750
Abstract: Methods are described for the characterization of microporous membranes such as crystalline molecular sieve membranes. The methods are based on the exposure of a membrane to a non-condensable inert gas e.g. helium, which may be transported through selective and non-selective pathways within the membrane, while at the same time exposing the membrane to increasing partial pressures of a condensable material in the form of a vapor or a gas. The condensable material may also be transported through the selective and non-selective pathways in the membrane. The condensable material progressively fills the pathways of the membrane and progressively attenuates the permeance of the non-condensable inert gas allowing detection and determination of non-selective pathways in the membrane.
