  • Patent number: 11364408
Abstract: An exercise or training device that includes a first pulley, a second pulley, and a two ended line trained through the first and second pulley, the line having a first end and a second end, the first end of the line affixed to a first handle for gripping, a second handle for gripping affixed to the line at a position between the first end and the second end of the line. The pulleys may be fixed in position to a wall or rack such that they are horizontally spaced apart. In some embodiments, the pulley or pulleys may be attached to the fixed position by a spring assembly or other device to increase the linear force in the handles or bar.

  • Publication number: 20080139370
Abstract: An exercise device has a motor rotating an eccentric weight to cause a vibration. The motor is powered by a power source external to the exercise device and has at least one handle is sized and configured to be gripped by a user for exercise. A pair of opposing end frames are connected to the motor on opposite ends of the motor with the handle extending between the end frames in a straight line of sufficient length so a user can grab the handle with both hands at once. The handle optionally extends beyond the end frames so weights can be added thereto. A speed control is connected to the motor to vary the vibration speed. A first connector is fastened to the device and configured to releasably fasten to a flexible member which is preferably connected to a variable resistance such as a weight stack. Thus, a portable vibrating handle can be connecting to existing exercise devices to provide vibrational exercise.

  • Patent number: 7294095
Abstract: An exercising device has a flexible tension member connected to a user interface that is connected to a mechanism for generating a resistive force which is overcome by the user moving the user interface to obtain exercise. The exercising device has a driving member rotating about a first axis and a circular oscillating surface rotatably connected to the driving member to circle about the first axis while also rotating about a second substantially parallel axis through the center of the circular oscillating surface. The first and second axes are offset a distance d. The flexible member wraps at least part way around the circular oscillating surface to rotate the oscillating surface as the user interface moves during use of the exercise device. The offset d provides an oscillatory motion to the user interface to increase the effectiveness of the exercise.

  • Patent number: 7213883
Abstract: A head rest for vertically supporting a person's head while in a seated position wherein the person's head defines left and right sides is provided. The head rest may comprise a first inflatable compartment sized and configured to receive the left side of the person's head. The head rest may also comprise a second inflatable compartment connected to the first inflatable compartment. The second inflatable compartment may be sized and configured to receive the right side of the person's head and have a mirror configuration of the first inflatable compartment. The first and second inflatable compartments may be isolated from each other such that the first and second inflatable compartments are independently inflatable. The head rest may also comprise a connecting strap attached to the first and second inflatable compartments for connecting the first inflatable compartment to the second inflatable compartment.

  • Publication number: 20050037902
Abstract: An exercise apparatus and method utilizes a flywheel mounted on a rotatable axle. The user exercises by accelerating and decelerating the rotation of the flywheel. For example, a line which wraps around the axle provides a mechanism for accelerating and decelerating the flywheel when a user applies a pulling force to the line. The inertia of the flywheel resists the user applied pulling force and provides the exercise mechanism. Preferably, spool mounted on the axle and variable pivot locations provide a mechanism for easily varying the exercise resistance.
