  • Patent number: 10082963
Abstract: A storage enclosure includes a plurality of hard drive sub-boards, each configured to include a plurality of hard drives. Each hard drive sub-board is coupled to one or more expanders, via and interface unit, with a set of dual-pass shielded cables. The expander includes a plurality of chipsets coupled to a complex logic device. Each chipset may communicate with a different subset of hard drives with potentially different timing characteristics. The dual-pass shielded cables may be arranged to mitigate these differences. In addition, pin assignments associated with the cables may be set in order to further mitigate the timing differences.

  • Patent number: 10074403
Abstract: A storage device tray has a form factor designed to support a larger storage device, and is configured to secure a small storage device, thereby acting as an adapter between storage device sizes. The storage device tray includes a sliding mechanism configured with pegs that may couple to screw holes in the storage device. The sliding mechanism also exerts a force against the storage device to secure that storage device, and may be locked to further secure that storage device. At least one advantage of this approach is that a storage device can be coupled to a storage device tray without using screws.

  • Patent number: 10032000
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for processing and/or analyzing nucleic acid sequencing data comprises receiving a first data input and a second data input. The first data input comprises untargeted sequencing data generated from a first nucleic acid sample obtained from a subject. The second data input comprises target-specific sequencing data generated from a second nucleic acid sample obtained from the subject. Next, with the aid of a computer processor, the first data input and the second data input are combined to produce a combined data set. Next, an output derived from the combined data set is generated. The output is indicative of the presence or absence of one or more polymorphisms of the first nucleic acid sample and/or the second nucleic acid sample.

  • Patent number: 10019421
Abstract: In an approach for selecting a version of a webpage to present to a user, a processor receives a request to access a webpage from a device, wherein the webpage includes a plurality of versions of the webpage. A processor receives information about the device. A processor determines a version of the webpage to present, based on the information about the device and a predefined goal associated with the webpage. • Patent number: 9971606
Abstract: A storage enclosure includes a plurality of hard drives coupled to a logic device that, in turn communicates with an operating system (OS) executing on a host computer system. When the storage enclosure is powered on, the hard drives become active at different times and transmit activation reports to the logic device in a random order. The logic device receives these activation reports, and then reorders then to align with the bay numbers where the hard drives are mounted. The logic device then transmits the reordered activation reports, and the OS assigns logical IDs to the hard drives that match the bay numbers.

  • Patent number: 9910572
Abstract: A method of graphically duplicating graphic objects through the steps of a computer: receiving a selection of at least two objects and a direction of duplication along an axis. A zero axis point, a farthest axis point for the objects based on the direction of duplication, and a proximal object is determined. A proximal offset point equivalent to a farthest point on the proximal object from the zero axis point is set. A distal object is determined from the objects based on the direction of duplication along the axis, with a starting point of the distal object being designated as a distal offset point. An offset distance equal to a distance between the distal offset point and the proximal offset point is determined. The selection of the objects is duplicated and placed immediately after the farthest axis point plus the offset distance from the farthest axis point.

  • Publication number: 20180051338
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and systems for personalized genetic testing of a subject. In some embodiments, a sequencing assay is performed on a biological sample from the subject, which then leads to genetic information related to the subject. Next, nucleic acid molecules are array-synthesized or selected based on the genetic information derived from data of the sequencing assay. At least some of the nucleic acid molecules may then be used in an assay which may provide additional information on one or more biological samples from the subject or a biological relative of the subject.

  • Publication number: 20170300264
Abstract: A storage enclosure includes a plurality of hard drive sub-boards, each configured to include a plurality of hard drives. A local logic device manages each hard drive sub-board. A master logic device manages the local logic devices. The master logic device receives management commands from a host computer system coupled to the storage enclosure, and routes those commands to specific local logic devices. The local logic devices then relay the commands to specifically targeted hard drives. Thus, each hard drive within the storage enclosure can be independently controlled, allowing a single hard drive to be powered down without powering down other hard drives in the enclosure.
