  • Patent number: 8452171
Abstract: A telephoto lens sighting apparatus. A mount couples to a hot shoe of a camera and a first sight couples to the mount. The first sight has a first gap that corresponds with a viewing aperture of a telephoto lens coupled to the camera. A second sight may be movably coupled to the camera through a sliding track and may thereby move with respect to the first sight. The second sight has a second gap, and the first gap and second gap when aligned correspond with a viewing aperture of a telephoto lens coupled to the camera. A first receiver may couple to the camera to selectively receive the first sight and a second receiver may couple to the camera to selectively receive the second sight. The first sight and second sight may each pivot to a plurality of positions and their heights may be adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20130043194
Abstract: A method and composition is described for controlling the growth of fouling materials, such as scale, in aqueous systems using a tagged (fluorescent) polymer. The tagged polymer can be a fluorescent polymer which has at least one fluorescent monomeric unit derived from a fluorophore which has at least one terminal end comprising an olefinic group. The method of controlling the growth of at least one fouling material in an aqueous system can include the steps of adding the tagged polymer to the aqueous system to be treated, fluorometrically monitoring the concentration of the tagged polymer, and adjusting, as needed, the concentration of the tagged polymer and proportionally used water treatment compound or compounds effective to control the growth of at least one fouling material. The adjustment of pH before determination of the fluorescence signal can be employed to increase sensitivity of the fluorophore and minimize background interference.

  • Patent number: 8037480
Abstract: A first process executing in a computer system creates thread-level message hooks within a second process executing in the computer system. A copy of a global notification hook of the first process is created in the second process. The copy detects a triggering message passed to or from a thread of the second process and determines when and whether to activate a thread-level message hook within the second process; the thread-level message hook is configured to monitor subsequent messages passed to or from the thread of the second process and may take various actions in response to any such messages.
