Patent number: 12223707Abstract: A method involves use of multiple convolutional neural networks and multiple segmentation masks to programmatically generate a stool rating for a digital image of a diaper with stool. The method includes generating, by a first convolutional neural network, a first mask representing an identification of an area of the digital image that corresponds to stool, and a second mask representing an identification of an area of the digital image that corresponds to a diaper. The method further includes generating a third mask representing an intersection of the first and second masks, and generating a modified digital image utilizing the third mask. The method further includes determining, by a second convolutional neural network, a stool rating for the digital image of the diaper with stool by utilizing the modified digital image as input for the second convolutional neural network.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2023Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: OBVIO HEALTH USA, INC.Inventors: Brian Alexander Cohn, Austin Richard Napana Lamb, Jamie Chen, Melissa Trieu, Nikki Jamshidbaigi, Pavle Joshua Medvidovic, Craig Gravina

Patent number: 11386685Abstract: Techniques are provided for identifying structural elements of a document. One Methodology includes generating a first channel of rasterized content by rasterizing a full page of the document and generating one or more additional channels of rasterized content from the page of the document by rasterizing one or more corresponding content types from the page of the document. Each of the one or more additional channels includes a specific type of content that is different from each of the other one or more additional channels. The methodology further includes inputting the first channel of rasterized content and the one or more additional channels of rasterized content into a machine learning (ML) model. The methodology continues with determining location and classification for each of a plurality of structural elements on the page of the document using the ML model.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2019Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Verena Sabine Kaynig-Fittkau, Smitha Bangalore Naresh, Shawn Alan Gaither, Richard Cohn, Paul John Asente, Eylon Stroh, Emily Seminerio

Patent number: 11238312Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for generating diverse and realistic synthetic documents using deep learning. In particular, the disclosed systems can utilize a trained neural network to generate realistic image layouts comprising page elements that comply with layout parameters. The disclosed systems can also generate synthetic content corresponding to the page elements within the image layouts. The disclosed systems insert the synthetic content into the corresponding page elements of documents based on the image layouts to generate synthetic documents.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: Adobe Inc.Inventors: Verena Kaynig-Fittkau, Sruthi Madapoosi Ravi, Richard Cohn, Nikolaos Barmpalios, Michael Kraley, Kanchana Sethu

Patent number: 10289655Abstract: Active content is deterministically rendered in a stable format that is independent of any particular targeted environment, which the active content may subsequently be rendered to. Environmental and dynamic dependencies are removed from a specification associated with the active content for purposes of producing a stable and consistent specification for the active content. The stable and static specification is used to subsequently render the active content into the stable format for any targeted or desired environment.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2016Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: ADOBE INC.Inventors: James D. Pravetz, Richard Cohn, William Ie

Publication number: 20080221945Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for creating and maintaining an ecosystem, such as for trading securities. For example, in one system, at least one eligibility prerequisite is identified—governing whether an entity is eligible to participate in the ecosystem—and whether the entity meets the eligibility prerequisite(s) is determined. In addition, at least one ecosystem rule is identified, governing whether an entity is qualified to participate in the ecosystem. An eligible entity may execute a contract in which the entity agrees to adhere to the ecosystem rule(s), thus allowing the entity to participate in the ecosystem. The entity may then enter into at least one designated ecosystem transaction, such as buying a security. Participants in the ecosystem may include issuers of securities, investors, brokers, dealers, and research analysts. In this example, the ecosystem seeks to maximize liquidity and transparency while minimizing regulatory obligations.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 29, 2007Publication date: September 11, 2008Inventors: Robert Pace, Gregg Weinstein, Paul Vigilante, Richard Cohn, Walter Joseph Clayton, Michael Donahue, Claudia Idann Rericha, Mindy Gordon

Publication number: 20060291504Abstract: The invention features a method and apparatus for receiving a data package, the data package being digital data embedding a plurality of documents and a manifest that includes one or more pairs of identifiers. Each pair comprises an alias-source identifier and an alias-destination identifier, and each alias-destination identifier points to a dynamic content resource within the data package. A target identifier is received in a request to perform an operation with the target identifier as an operand and, if the target identifier matches any of the alias-source identifiers in the one or more pairs of identifiers, the alias-destination identifier paired with the matching alias-source identifier is used instead of the target identifier in performing the operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2005Publication date: December 28, 2006Inventor: Richard Cohn

Patent number: 6073148Abstract: Methods and apparatus for displaying an electronic document on a display device coupled to a computer. The document includes text specified to be drawn using a desired font that is not on the computer. The methods and apparatus display the text and a region including the text initially using a substitute font different from the desired font; obtain the desired font from a source coupled to the computer for data transmission; and then redisplay the text and the region using the desired font. Aspects include the following features. The document has font description metrics for the desired font. The methods and apparatus read the font description metrics from the document before initially displaying the text; and use the font description metrics for the desired font to create the substitute font. The computer has font description metrics for the desired font, and the methods and apparatus use the font description metrics for the desired font to create the substitute font.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1998Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Edward R.
