Patent number: 10336635Abstract: A subsurface sewage disposal system includes leaching members oriented substantially vertically and positioned in a non-linear arrangement. A first volume is defined within the leaching members by a permeable enclosure configured to provide temporary storage of an effluent introduced by a distribution pipe. A plurality of balancing pipes is configured in a non-linear arrangement to redistribute the effluent from one leaching member to another leaching member. As the effluent rises within one leaching member, the effluent is redistributed by the balancing pipes to another leaching member. In the event of a failure of the distribution pipe, the plurality of balancing pipes is configured to bypass the distribution pipe and redistribute the effluent to the leaching members downstream of such failure.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2017Date of Patent: July 2, 2019Inventor: Richard Couch

Patent number: 9850150Abstract: A subsurface sewage is provided and includes a plurality of leaching members oriented substantially vertically. A first volume defined within each of the plurality of the leaching members forms a void therein and includes a periphery, a top face that defines a first substantially horizontal plane, and a bottom face that defines a second substantially horizontal plane. A permeable enclosure is wrapped substantially around the periphery of each leaching member and a system frame maintains a location and a position of the plurality of the leaching members. A filter media is disposed in a second volume defined between at least two of the plurality of the leaching members. A leaching member balancing pipe is configured to hydraulically connect at least one of the plurality of the leaching members to at least one other of the plurality of the leaching members. A distribution pipe is configured to hydraulically connect at least one of the plurality of the leaching members to a source of an effluent flow.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2013Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Inventor: Richard Couch

Publication number: 20070264323Abstract: A multiple pulsed dose drug delivery system for pharmaceutically active amphetamine salts, comprising a pharmaceutically active amphetamine salt covered with an immediate-release coating and a pharmaceutically active amphetamine salt covered with an enteric coating wherein the immediate release coating and the enteric coating provide for multiple pulsed dose delivery of the pharmaceutically active amphetamine salt. The product can be composed of either one or a number of beads in a dosage form, including either capsule, tablet, or sachet method for administering the beads.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 12, 2006Publication date: November 15, 2007Applicant: SHIRE LLCInventors: Amir Shojaei, Stephanie Read, Richard Couch, Paul Hodgkins

Publication number: 20070249537Abstract: Disclosed are new compounds that increase the absorption of pharmaceutical agents across mucous membranes. These absorption enhancers allow higher bioavailability of administered drugs. The enhancers advantageously have low or no cytotoxicity.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2007Publication date: October 25, 2007Inventors: Rong-Kun CHANG, Benjamin Kibalo, Richard Couch, Mark Ginski, Ali Keshavarz-Shokri, Caren Bancroft

Publication number: 20060289407Abstract: A plasma arc torch that includes a torch body having a nozzle mounted relative to a composite electrode in the body to define a plasma chamber. The torch body includes a plasma flow path for directing a plasma gas to the plasma chamber in which a plasma arc is formed. The nozzle includes a hollow, body portion and a substantially solid, head portion defining an exit orifice. The composite electrode can be made of a metallic material (e.g., silver) with high thermal conductivity in the forward portion electrode body adjacent the emitting surface, and the aft portion of the electrode body is made of a second low cost, metallic material with good thermal and electrical conductivity. This composite electrode configuration produces an electrode with reduced electrode wear or pitting comparable to a silver electrode, for a price comparable to that of a copper electrode.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2006Publication date: December 28, 2006Inventors: David Cook, Kirk Ferland, Charles Hackett, Yong Yang, Richard Couch, Zhipeng Lu

Publication number: 20060187277Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming high-speed water droplets takes advantage on a synergy of features disclosed by the present invention including a low Weber number in a chamber in which a liquid stream breaks up into droplets; a reduced break up distance for forming the water droplets by introducing turbulence into the liquid source, thereby providing a unit or tool that is of practical size; accomplishing the generation of high-speed water droplets without using a complex driver; reducing the liquid's surface tension thereby facilitating the creating of near spherical droplets; and maintaining the droplets in form until they strike the surface of a workpiece.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2005Publication date: August 24, 2006Applicant: Synergy Innovations, Inc.Inventors: Robert Dean, David Nelson, Matthew Brown, Richard Couch, Mark Blanchard
