    Abstract: A method for removal of water soluble organics from acidified oil process water is disclosed. The method comprises a step in which free oil is removed from such water by water-wet ultrafiltration to produce a water-rich filtrate stream which is then directed through a reverse osmosis membrane to produce a WSO-depleted stream and a WSO-rich reject stream. The method includes a recycle stream.
