Abstract: A liquid filter housing formed by an enclosure having a sidewall, a bottom and an open top. The bottom is formed from a support structure coupled to a flat plate. The cover may also be formed from a support structure coupled to a flat plate. A support member may be located between the bottom and a mounting surface. The enclosure has an inlet and an outlet communicating with an interior of the enclosure. The inlet and the outlet may be mounted to the bottom and a feed pipe used to direct the inlet flow proximate to an upper section of the enclosure. The cover may be adapted to close the open top, for example using eyebolts.

Abstract: An extension kit for adaptation to an existing filter housing provides a two-fold increase in filtering surface area, while inducing a vibration into a resultant filter housing structure which resultantly loosens entrapped impurities to extend the life and frequency between filter change-outs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for filtering a material that flows through a filter housing having a housing chamber, a material inlet port, a material outlet port, and an annular shoulder disposed in the housing chamber. A non-sealing filter element having a fluid pervious filter bag fixed to a non-sealing shape retaining filter collar assembly including an annular sleeve, an outturned annular flange, and a fluid pervious annular filter element disposed on the annular shoulder of the housing chamber. The fluid pervious annular filter element may be a separate element interposing the outturned annular flange of the non-sealing shape retaining filter collar assembly and the annular shoulder of the filter housing to filter material not filtered by the fluid pervious filter bag. Alternatively, the outturned annular flange and the annular sleeve of the non-sealing shape retaining filter collar assembly may be comprised of a fluid pervious material to filter material not filtered by the fluid pervious filter bag.

Abstract: A method of filtering and a filter having a housing in which a filtering screen having a bag-shaped configuration is located. A removable floatable container is located within the filter housing, inside the filter screen. The container includes parts which are spacedly positioned from the screen so as to enable liquid flow through the filter to pass around the container and through portions of the screen.
