  • Publication number: 20030164403
Abstract: A plurality of elongated, substantially planar, elastomeric members are assembled together in a stack such that the members are generally aligned with each other. The members are made of a stack of tire treads. A means of binding is provided for holding the stack of members together and maintaining their alignment. The addition of one or more rigid longitudinal element(s) provides stiffness.

  • Patent number: 6012593
Abstract: A portable holder for lids of cooking vessels includes upstanding supports on a base with intermediate retainers. At least one face of the lid contacts the support. Spaces between the support and retainer are spanned by the lower edge of the lid. A lid of minimum thickness can fit in the space. The upper edge of the support is V-shaped and the upper edge of the retainer is semi-circular. The supports and retainers are removable for cleaning and storage.

  • Patent number: 5905441
Abstract: A visual signaling device having interspersed arrays of red/amber/green LED signal lamps and a center flashing strobe lamp. A side mounted joy-stick type toggle switch on the housing is operated by the user's thumb to provide the control of the signal lamps. One position of the joy-stick button operates an on/off switch, and the other three positions each operate one of the three color arrays. A separate strobe light switch is provided adjacent the toggle switch. The housing of the signaling device is bowl-shaped and held in the palm of the user's outwardly extended hand. A strap extending around the back of the hand provides assistance. A battery pack is recharged through a standard socket for connection through a cord and utility plug to a power source.

  • Patent number: 5584599
Abstract: A modular barrier system and component bags are provided characterized by the component bags being stacked in layers and interconnected to form a retaining wall. Each bag is constructed of a woven tubular sheet that has a rectangular shape when pressed flat. One end of the bag is sealed and the other end is left open to receive sand for filling. Dual elongated straps are bonded to the lower surface of the bag and extend over the side edges. The straps are positioned at 1/5 L, 2/5 L, 1/5 L spacing to be vertically aligned for easy interconnection when the bags are stacked to form the wall. The ends of each strap are folded back to form a loop that receives the strap/loop from a bag in the layer immediately above. The loops also function as handles that allow the bags to be easily lifted and carried.

  • Patent number: 5010696
Abstract: A roof gutter attachment which overlies a roof gutter to prevent gutter and/or downspout clogging due to the undue or unwanted accumulation of debris. The arrangement presents a pattern of downwardly inclined parallel steps presenting grooves oriented in the path of liquid flow increasing liquid area expanse and the passage of smaller sized debris by reason of liquid adhesion. Linear ridges are defined between each of the grooves, such serving for ready sliding movement of larger sized debris over the gutter and into a receiving area therebelow. Air pressure differential creates a self-cleaning attachment when wind moves across the attachment.
