  • Patent number: 4010046
Abstract: A method of extruding aluminum base alloys having high strength and high electrical conductivity properties which comprises providing an aluminum base alloy containing from 0.04 to 1.0% iron, from 0.02 to 0.2% silicon, from 0.1 to 1.0% copper, from 0.001 to 0.2% boron, balance essentially aluminum; heating the cast alloy ingot or billet to a desired extrusion temperature, extruding the material, cooling the extruded product, drawing down the cooled product, and finally aging the drawn product. The alloy material utilized may be homogenized before being extruded.
