  • Patent number: 8267861
Abstract: An improved dental prop that is formed of a slim, cylindrical configuration for bilateral access with voided areas on either end for the purpose of aiding in the comfort of the patient by allowing the patient's jaw to relax during lengthy dental procedures, while effectively articulating the mouth in an open position. The prop contains a safety line eyelet, perpendicular to the center of the cylindrical body, thereby allowing a dentist an extra precautionary step toward the safety of the patient in the case of ingestion or aspiration.

  • Publication number: 20080051688
Abstract: A wound dressing that includes two layers for a two part solution to the needs of a healing skin wound. The first step involves a relatively closed system wherein moisture is kept near the skin to promote healing. The second step allows for removal of a top layer of the dressing to reveal a layer with a series of apertures that allows for 100% moisture vapor and oxygen transmission rates to avoid irritation and itching of the skin. At the same time, the bottom layer of the wound dressing maintains a significant outer perimeter that prevents the perimeter migration of microorganisms into the healing wound. The wound dressing can also be used as a means for securing medical instruments, such as intravenous catheters, to the skin of a patient while avoiding the itching and irritation associated with traditional methods.

  • Patent number: 5643096
Abstract: An apparatus is provided to detect the presence or absence of an object thereon in order to actuate a pneumatic circuit. In particular, the apparatus is directed to detecting the presence or absence of a golf ball on a tee of an automatic golf ball teeing apparatus. The sensing apparatus includes a plunger engaged with a tee on which the golf ball rests. The plunger has a groove formed therein. The groove of the plunger is operatively engaged with a lever of a valve of a pneumatic circuit to be actuated. The plunger rests on a spring such that when a golf ball is present, the spring is compressed and the groove and lever of the valve keep the valve in a closed position. When the object is absent, the spring forces the plunger, and thus the groove, into an operative position in which the lever of the valve causes the valve to vent air. When the valve vents air, the pneumatic circuit is actuated and automatic replacement of the object is initiated.

  • Patent number: 5348305
Abstract: A golf ball teeing apparatus for continuous teeing of a supply of golf balls for driving or the like is presented. The golf ball teeing apparatus includes a platform, a housing having two chambers, a reciprocable pair of camming plates with angular upper camming surfaces, a piston with a tee mounted thereon and an actuator. Each of the reciprocable camming plates are adapted for sliding through one of the two chambers. The housing also includes an input which communicates with a first of the two chambers wherein a first of the two reciprocable camming plates is located. Located within a second chamber is the piston which is adapted for slideably engaging the upper camming surface of a second camming plate.

  • Patent number: 4394834
Abstract: A can crusher having continuous incremental crushing action for reducing cans or similar containers to a compact size is disclosed. The crusher consists of a housing having a cylindrical configuration with a cylindrical cavity disposed therein enclosed at one end by a mounting fixture for horizontal attachment to a wall or the like and enclosed at the other end by a front plug which provides a crushing surface. Disposed within the cylindrical cavity is a ram slidably engageable therein having ratchet arms attached in a spaced-apart relationship thereto adapted for attachment to a handle for propelling the ram through the cavity in a continuous incremental manner toward the front plug. The housing includes a can insertion opening disposed in a top portion thereof for enabling a can to be inserted into the cavity between the ram and the plug and a can ejection slot disposed in the bottom portion thereof proximate the front plug for passing a can which has been crushed out of the housing.
