  • Patent number: 6170427
Abstract: An apparatus and method for rapidly drying and curing a waterborne coating as applied by a spray gun, or other means, to a product traveling on a moving continuous conveyor track. The conveyor track passes through a drying section which uses recycled filtered air to dry the coating and then into a curing section which uses an irradiator and airflow to rapidly cure the coating. The irradiator is cooled using an air flow and a damper assembly system.

  • Patent number: 6094968
Abstract: A continuous emissions monitoring system for continuously monitoring and evaluating air flow samples from a plurality of emission sites. The monitoring system includes a microprocessor controlled Fourier transform infrared scanning laser system for identifying and quantifying compounds in the air flow samples based on known spectral absorption bands. The monitoring system also includes an auxiliary gas chromatograph for separating and analyzing compounds belonging to a common family which exhibit interference patterns or overlapping spectral bands. The auxiliary gas chromatograph is employed in cases where the infrared scanning laser system detects high levels of compounds, above a predetermined threshold level, exhibiting such interference patterns, or when an unknown compound is detected by the infrared scanning laser system.

  • Patent number: 5735710
Abstract: A system for connecting modular electrical components, like switches and wall outlets, into electrical wall boxes. There are electrical connections on the side of each electrical component to form a series of side-by-side electrical components that are to be placed into the electrical box without having to use multiple short wires between the components. There is a common power, neutral, and ground bus plane running through each electrical component which eliminates the need to manually connect each electrical component in a daisy chain. The electrical box is accessible from the rear for wiring the modular electrical components. The electrical box also has two separate cavities, one for placing the modular electrical components into, and the other for housing and attaching the electrical wiring leading to and from the electrical box.

  • Patent number: 5718061
Abstract: An automated air filtration and drying system diffusor is disclosed which includes at least one pair of parallel overlapping panels to balance a flow of air in a filtration and drying system. Aperatures are located in each of the panels. The aperatures of a second panel block the aperatures of the first panel. In a preferred embodiment, air flow generated by a rotary blower includes aperatures positioned in a rotary center of the panels with openings having a greater surface area than aperatures positioned on an exterior of the panels. A greater velocity is generated by air passing through aperatures having a smaller relative opening, thus balancing or equalizing the air flow.

  • Patent number: 5554416
Abstract: An automated air filtration and drying method for uncured waterborne paint and industrial coatings are disclosed that provides for the drying of a product using recycled filtered air. In particular, a drying system is used along with a series of multistage dry-type filters to continuously exhaust contaminated air from a spray booth, filter it, remove moisture therefrom, and deliver it back to the spray booth.
