  • Patent number: 5191327
Abstract: A mechanical-to-electrical transducer arrangement wherein a combination of signal preamplifier and programmable analog signal processing circuitry is disposed immediately adjacent the transducer's sensor cell where low losses a low noise coupling into the signal path can be achieved. The programmable analog processing includes differentiation, filtering, integration, amplification and elective disconnection of the sensor cell to enable rapid transient signal recovery. Provisions for generation of transducer identification code and test signals in the processing circuitry and communications by way of a two wire time shared communication path is included.

Date of Patent: March 2, 1993
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air Force
Inventors: Richard D. Talmadge, Kenneth E. Appley, Salvatore DeFrancesco
  • Patent number: 4909064
Abstract: A wide frequency spectrum mechanical impulse calibration apparatus for a microphone or other pressure wave to electrical signal transducer apparatus is disclosed. Calibration is accomplished using the Fourier series based transfer function of the transducer as obtained from its response to a time domain mechanical impulse input signal. Details of a mechanical impulse signal source, an improved time gated signal processing arrangement, and exemplary calibration signals are also disclosed.
