    Abstract: A high density infrared detector array is stacked with and bonded to a coementing silicon microcircuit chip by interconnecting solder bumps. The silicon chip is provided with a plurality of window areas, each of said areas positioned in registration with a corresponding underlying detector element for permitting the transmission of infrared radiation to the array.
