Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for creating and providing narratives associated with a type of subject entity (e.g., person, movie, place, etc.). A narrative for the subject entity can be generated according to a narrative template. The narrative template can be selected based on a variety of factors. Following the selection of a narrative template, fields in the selected template are filled with stored data associated with the subject entity. The new or updated narrative may be stored in a memory. In response to a request for information related to the subject entity, the narrative can be transmitted to a client device.

Following a detected change in the system, a narrative template is selected based on a variety of factors. The template may provide variations of sentences based on the amount of data provided. Following the selection of the optimal narrative, fields in the selected template are filled with stored data associated with the subject. Some of the stored data may need to be translated prior to adding to the template depending on whether the selected narrative template is in a different language. The new or updated narrative may be stored in a memory. The system may encode a network page with the narrative and send the encoded network page to a client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for auditing content information for a media work. In embodiments, content information for a plurality of media works that identifies entities associated with each media work may be maintained. In an embodiment, a request to identify a particular media work may be received. One or more words included in a segment of the particular media work may be identified where the segment is configured to be presented. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the one or more identified words may be filtered based on a set of rules to correct errors. An identity of the particular media work may be determined based at least in part on the filtered one or more words and the content information for the plurality of media works.

Abstract: An integrated position and direction system is disclosed that includes a digital compass and a satellite positioning system (SATPOS) having a receiver adapted to receive satellite position determining signals. Direction is determined using the digital compass and heading is determined using the SATPOS. The integrated position and direction system is operable to display, on a display device, map information that is oriented according to a current orientation regardless of whether the system is stationary or moving. The map display is oriented according to either heading determined using the satellite positioning system or direction determined using the digital compass. The integrated position and direction system updates the map display to orient the map display with a current position. Moreover, the integrated position and direction system updates the map display to orient the map display with a current orientation (e.g., heading or direction).

Abstract: An integrated position and direction system is disclosed that includes a digital compass, wherein the digital compass includes at least three sensors, and a satellite positioning system (SATPOS) having a receiver adapted to receive satellite position determining signals. Direction is determined using the digital compass and heading is determined using the SATPOS. At a first location, the integrated position and direction system is oriented to the offset feature and is operated to determine a first set of measurements relative to the offset feature using the digital compass and the satellite positioning system. At a second location, the integrated position and direction system is oriented to the offset feature and is operated to determine a second set of measurements relative to the offset feature using the digital compass and the satellite positioning system. The integrated position and direction system calculates the position of the offset feature using the first and second sets of measurements.

The apparatus includes a data measurement device such as a GPS receiver or other measurement device for collecting data such as position information pertaining to artifacts, a memory for recording collected data and a user interface having an input for receiving recorded information such as qualitative information pertaining to artifacts from the user and a display for displaying the collected data as it is collected by a user. The user interface includes a time scale to associate the data collected pertaining to the artifacts with the time at which the data was collected providing a useful project management tool for the user as well as for management personnel supervising the user and for providing an accurate time based archival record of data pertaining to artifacts such as their location and physical condition.

Abstract: A multipoint thermocouple assembly using coil springs in which a coil spring is used with each thermocouple to maintain contact between the thermocouple measuring junction and the interior side of the assembly housing. Maintenance of such contact helps to insure an accurate reading of temperature changes which occur outside the assembly housing.
