Abstract: A second generation, version III prosthetic joint for replacing a metatarsophalangeal joint of a human foot has a metatarsal head component with a convex bearing surface that rotates, inverts and everts, and slightly abducts and adducts; normal movement of a healthy human great toe joint, against the concave surface of the phalangeal base second component. The base is elliptical and formed by two different radii of curvature with a desired ratio and constructed of high density medical grade polyethylene. The internal surface is titanium alloy with an intentionally irregular roughened surface for increased bone attraction and increased surface tension. The stem is a shortened square alloy peg. also roughened.

Abstract: A vibrating sole device, comprising a vibration unit located within a cavity in a sole, comprising a unitary housing having an interior portion and a heel portion, a vibrator located at the interior portion of the housing, a power supply located at the interior portion of the housing in electrical connection with the vibrator, an actuator for said vibrator in the housing, a status indicator located on the heel portion of the housing, and a power supply port located on the heel portion of the housing.
