  • Patent number: 4099538
Abstract: Fusible low-temperature alloy is used to secure a flanged sleeve to an adjusting stem which adjusts the tension on a spring-biased diaphragm which actuates a normally-closed valve. If a predetermined temperature is reached, the alloy melts, displacing the sleeve and removing the compressive force on the spring, thereby closing the valve.
