    Abstract: Apparatus for separating seed from husks which consists of one or more separating units. Each separating unit includes a series of impact plates fixed at angles with respect to each other and to the vertical axis. In use, the seed and husks fall freely under gravity to impact and deflect off the impact plates along a path determined by the angles of the plates and the weight of the seed and husks. The deflection path differs such that seed and husks can be collected separately.
