  • Publication number: 20230205295
Abstract: An example non-transitory computer-readable medium includes instructions to monitor a time-averaged power consumption of a computing device that includes a plurality of power-consuming components including a processor, and compare the time-averaged power consumption to a first threshold to detect if the time-averaged power consumption exceeds the first threshold. In response to detecting that the time-averaged power consumption of the computing device exceeds the first threshold, the instructions are to decrease an operational power of the processor from a normal operating power, and start monitoring an instantaneous power consumption of the computing device to determine whether to make a further decrease or an increase to the operational power of the processor.

  • Patent number: 11066628
Abstract: A gluten-free fermented beverage for human consumption includes a mixture including tea and alcohol. The alcohol is formed by a single culture yeast and fermentable sugar not derived from grain. A method for making the beverage includes steeping a form of tea leaves in water to form a tea, adding a form of yeast nutrient to the tea, adding a fermentable sugar not derived from grain to the tea, adding a single culture yeast to the tea, fermenting the tea mixture, adding citric acid before and/or after the step of fermenting, filtering the fermented tea, and carbonating the fermented tea.

  • Patent number: 9170632
Abstract: An electronic device (100) includes a network interface controller (102) and an input/output controller (110, 202) having a link layer. A portion of the input/output controller is configured to be powered off during a lower power mode of the electronic device, where the first portion contains the link layer. Wakeup logic (108) separate from the input/output controller receives a wake indication from the network interface controller in response to the physical layer receiving a wake message on the network while the electronic device is in the lower power mode. The wakeup logic activates an indication to awaken the electronic device from the lower power mode in response to the wake indication from the network interface controller.

  • Publication number: 20020035204
Abstract: The invention relates to sealing strips, to methods for manufacturing and connecting sealing strips, to the use of the sealing strips in the building trade as joint sealings, facade strips and roofing sheets. The sealing strips consist of polymer materials and contain at least one thermoplastic polymer with at least one reaction-capable epoxy function so that a connection of the sealing strip to the sub-surface or to itself is possible by adhesing or welding.

  • Patent number: 6107067
Abstract: A porous inorganic oxide carrier body for immobilizing living cells is prepared from inorganic oxide particles such as clay particles. The particles have an average particle size of from 0.01 to 20 microns, and the carrier body has a total pore volume of 0.05 to 1.0 cc/g and an average pore diameter of 50 to 700 .ANG., and has substantially no pore volume in the range of 800 .ANG. or greater. The carrier is prepared by forming a mixture containing the particles, a liquid medium and optional ingredients including zeolite and activated carbon, and forming the mixture into a shaped carrier body which may be optionally dried and calcined. Typical shapes of the carrier include spheres, cylinders, rings, honeycombs and shaped monoliths. Bacteria and other microorganisms immobilized on the carrier are useful for treatment of contaminated waste streams or contaminated vapors, or for other uses for which microorganisms are used such as the synthesis of chemicals.

  • Patent number: 4787659
Abstract: A device for retrieving small items which have fallen into common residential drains and have become lodged between the drain inlet and the distal end of the drain trap. The device consists of a elongate tubular portion having an inflatable pouch or balloon fixed to one end and a resilient squeezable bulb at the opposing end. Manually depressing the bulb after insertion of the pouch beyond the trap causes the pouch to inflate and engage the side walls of piping of the drain. Lifting the inflated pouch upward to the drain inlet carries any loose items in front of the pouch to the drain inlet for retrieval.
