  • Patent number: 6007569
Abstract: The present invention features an apparatus for quantifying the effects that colored light therapies and treatments have upon an individual. The apparatus features an imagescope console that bathes a patient in different light colors, patterns, sequences, hues, tints, etc. A physiological monitoring unit monitors the bodily functions of the individual as the various colored light treatments are applied. A computer analyzes the monitored data, and produces a printout, or an electrostressogram, which details the quantitative effects of the light therapies. The electrostressogram can be faxed or otherwise transmitted to medical offices, and/or satellite communicated from spacecrafts and interplanetary space station to Earth for screening, preventing, diagnosing, and treating medical illnesses caused by stress.

  • Patent number: 5064410
Abstract: A portable unobtrusive device to be used in combination with an imagescope. The portable device features a pair of eyeglasses having a circuit for monitoring a physiological function of the eyeglass wearer corresponding to a predetermined stress level. The circuit contains an alarm which emits an auditory and/or visual signal in response to a change in said physiological function.

  • Patent number: 4601598
Abstract: A finger gripping device used as a removable attachment to a writing implement is formed as a one piece cylindrical body member made of flexible material. The body has an internal bore of uniform diameter so that it may be slid onto a writing implement. A plurality of circumferential ribs are axially spaced along the outside surface of the cylindrical body. The ribs are formed by closely spaced peaks and valleys.

  • Patent number: 4035089
Abstract: The mechanism for varying the diameter of a body in accordance with this invention is defined by a mechanism in which the grip area intended for expansion comprises a plurality of compressible O-ring elements supported by a cylindrical body section and spaced apart by spacer elements. A stationary end plate which may be formed by the tip portion of a writing implement, forms an abutment against which an end O-ring will be forced for compression. An axially movable adjustment member is also carried on the cylindrical body for engagement with the opposite end O-ring so that as the adjustment member is moved toward the abutment member the plurality of O-rings therebetween will be compressed so that their cross-sectional shapes will be deformed from circular to elliptical thus enlarging the overall outside diameter of the grip portion.

  • Patent number: 3968965
Abstract: A racket for use in games such as tennis, badminton, squash paddle ball, etc. having a head and a handle which may be detachably connected to said head at a throat. The head comprises a frame defining a stringing or ball contact area and a throat connected with the frame. The handle has an axially extending rotatable member, such as a threaded bolt. The bolt may extend beyond the handle for attachment to the head. An internally threaded insert is carried by said throat for receiving the bolt so that the handle may be secured to and detached from the head. Guide pins are provided on the handle for engagement with the throat so that the handle will be properly aligned with the head. Grip expanding structure is carried within a partially hollow handle so as to vary the diameter of the handle. The expanding structure includes radially movable wall plates and a rotatable element such as a rod axially carried within the handle.
