  • Patent number: 4722521
Abstract: A swinging mechanism for maintaining pendular movement in a swing. A revolving plate is provided which engages a propulsion member on the swing so as to apply torque to the swing during part of the swing cycle, maintaining pendular movement of the swing despite energy loses due to air friction and the like. Switches are provided to activate rotation of the revolving plate when the swing has reached a rear position, and to continue movement of the revolving plate to return it to a neutral or original position in preparation for the next cycle of the swing movement.

  • Patent number: 4478427
Abstract: A foldable infant stroller which may be released and folded to a closed position or unfolded to an open position by one hand. The design and construction of the stroller is such that simply pushing or pulling on the handle portion of the stroller against the front wheels of the stroller moves the stroller from a folded or unfolded position. A latch mechanism may be activated by means of depressing a knob located in close proximity to the handle bar portion of the stroller, allowing the knob to be depressed simultaneously with pulling or pushing on the handle bar portion to fold or unfold the stroller. A hook mechanism, actuated by the knob on the handle bar portion of the stroller will engage either of a pair of catches to hold the stroller in either the folded or unfolded position.

  • Patent number: 4429916
Abstract: A portable infant car seat which provides protection and restraint for a child while in an automobile is disclosed. An arm rest/shield biased to a raised position is held in a lower position by a harness system used to restrain and protect the child. • Patent number: 3948556
Abstract: A car seat for a young child which may be oriented in either a sitting or reclining position. The orientation of the car seat can be changed without disturbing the occupant or the secured position of the supporting frame. The car seat includes a seat structure, a support frame and linkage therebetween. The seat structure is designed to enclose the occupant for protection during severe maneuvering and collisions and includes a restrainer positioned across the front of the occupant which advantageously distributes the impact force on the occupant during a collision. The restrainer is held in place by a secondary seat belt system which does not require unbuckling when the seat orientation is changed. The linkage between the seat structure and the support frame provides a high seating position for comfort and visability and a reclining position for resting.
