  • Publication number: 20100096333
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the removal of metals and cleanup of roof top storm water runoff comprising a drum structure which includes at least two media beds for filtering the storm water runoff. The first media bed filters out particles of toxic metals and metal ions are absorbed on the media material in the first media bed.

  • Patent number: 4339930
Abstract: A control system for a solar-assisted heating and cooling system including solar collector system, a thermal storage system, a water-to-air heat pump, a water-to-air heat exchanger, a domestic water heater, and a cooling tower. The preferred embodiment of the controller of the present invention includes a first temperature sensing means for sensing the temperature of the collector fluid at the outlet of the solar collector system, a second temperature sensing means for sensing the temperature of the storage fluid at the thermal storage system, and a third temperature sensing means for sensing the temperature of the inlet water to the domestic water heater. The controller energizes or deenergizes a collector fluid circulation pump and activates valve means to circulate the collector fluid between the collector system and the thermal storage system or the domestic water heater based on the temperature of the three sensors to provide efficient operation of the solar energy collection process.

  • Patent number: H1189
Abstract: An apparatus and method for destroying chemical and biological warfare (C agents includes heating contaminated air in a compressor, flowing the hot compressed air through a reaction vessel to provide sufficient contact time to kill CBW agents; initially partially cooling the hot compressed air in an aftercooler; finally cooling the hot, compressed air by expansion in a turbine. Energy is recovered from the turbine to inverse efficiency. Additional power is supplied by external means.
