  • Patent number: 5622698
Abstract: Ice nucleating agents are introduced into or on invertebrates. They elevate the supercooling point of such invertebrates. Where such invertebrates are freeze-intolerant, they may be killed or made susceptible to freezing by subjecting them to temperatures at or below the elevated supercooling point. Food sources treated with ice nucleating agents can be used to introduce the agents effectively to the invertebrate.

  • Patent number: 5553286
Abstract: A new format of executable program is provided which is flexible and open-ended to provide a means for storing heterogeneous program data in an executable program. In a computer system having a central processing unit, memory, and a storage device, a system and method of executing a computer program is provided for converting one or more source programs into an executable program. The data from the object modules are arranged according to a set of predefined classes. Each class of data is written out to memory keeping data from the same class stored together. Only the data in classes needed for running the program are loaded into memory. As data is required to continue running the program, it is read into memory. A directory is maintained of where each class is stored on the storage device.

  • Patent number: 4765476
Abstract: A flexible insulated container for thermally insulating beverages in glass containers or cans, as well as other food items, which includes an insulating bottom, insulating end panels and side panels attached to the bottom, which side panels extend above the top edges of the end panels and are provided with hand or finger openings for carrying purposes. In a preferred embodiment, an insulating seal flap attached to one of the side panels selectively closes the top of the insulated container beneath the extending ends of the side panels and loop-pile fasteners are used to maintain the seal flap over the top of the insulated container and to lap the extending ends of the side panels over the seal flap and each other, to further insulate the contents of the insulated container. When empty and not in use, the flexible insulated container can be collapsed for storage in a small space.
