  • Patent number: 5845478
Abstract: A top shell for use on a link of a flexible linkage, the top shell comprising a molded body having a top portion with a top surface and a bottom portion defining an underside. The underside includes a recess into which is disposed a decorative material that is visible from the top surface. The top portion defines a lens that refracts incident light on the top surface to the decorative material to form an image associated with the decorative material.

  • Patent number: 5441686
Abstract: A method of assembling top shells onto the links of a flexible linkage, the top shells being configured and dimensioned to overlie the links and having bendable end tabs. The method includes the steps of: forming an elongated framework which includes a plurality of the top shells arranged in an integrally interconnected parallel array; combining a section of the linkage with the top shell framework in a manner such that the links are aligned with the top shells; and subdividing the framework to separate the top shells one from the other in connection with the deformation of the end tabs around and into mechanical interengagement with the ends of the links to thereby secure the top shells to the links.

  • Patent number: 5358134
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel and unique display package. The package includes separable tray and cover components each having parallel side walls joined by end walls. In the assembled state, the side walls of the cover and tray are arranged in a mutually abutting coplanar relationship, with the end walls of the cover being tightly contained between and immobilized with respect to the end walls of the tray. Thus, the side walls of the cover do not intrude into the tray to limit its available width, nor is the cover prone to rattling.

  • Patent number: 5092061
Abstract: A calendar attachment for a watchband in which a case cooperates with a windowed cover to define a chamber adapted to receive a calendar cartridge. The cartridge includes an elongated flexible calendar strip extending over a platen and connected at its opposite ends to a pair of shafts rotatably supported beneath the platen. The shafts are mechanically interconnected by intermeshed gears, and one of the shafts has an operating stem protruding externally of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4805271
Abstract: An end connector for connecting an end of a watch band to a watch case. The watch case has spaced lugs adapted to accommodate a conventional spring bar or the like removably engaged therebetween. The watch band is of the expansible type with a row of top links overlying a row of bottom links, and with spring loaded elements for interconnecting the top and bottom links in a manner permitting longitudinal expansion and contraction of the band. The end connector comprises a generally flat shank having a hook portion at one end and a tab portion at an opposite end. The shank is configured and dimensioned for insertion into the end of the watch band between the rows of top and bottom links. The tab portion is bent out of the plane of the thus inserted shank into an interlocked position protruding between two adjacent bottom links, and the hook portion is engaged with the spring bar.

  • Patent number: 4723406
Abstract: This invention involves an expansible band construction which allows a wide latitude in the design of outer decorative shells, thereby permitting the simulation of chain link type bracelets and other popular styles not available before in an expansion band. This is accomplished by constructing the outer links of the band with a smaller width than the width of the inner link. The band in its contracted state will therefore have significant gaps between adjacent outer links.

  • Patent number: 4375713
Abstract: For use in combination with an expansible linkage bracelet of the type having rows of overlapping resiliently interconnected upper and lower links, a clasp adapted for adjustable and detachable connection to an end portion of the bracelet. The clasp has a casing with a base wall and upturned side walls defining a channel for receiving the bracelet end portion. A lid having a top wall with downturned side walls is mounted for pivotal movement relative to the casing between open and closed positions respectively exposing and enclosing the receiving channel. Engagement members at one end of the clasp are arranged to protrude between selected laterally adjacent pairs of upper and lower bracelet links, thereby retaining the bracelet end portion within the receiving channel when the lid is in the closed position.
