  • Patent number: 8020245
Abstract: The claimed carpet cleaning apparatus incorporates recesses in a rigid surface of a roller, a hand-operated cleaning device, or a rigid disk. The rigid surface compresses the fibers of the soft surface as the device and the recesses decompress the fibers. The repeated compression and decompression, preferably in combination with a cleaning compound, provide the mechanical action necessary for removal of foreign material.

  • Patent number: 7814613
Abstract: The claimed carpet cleaning apparatus incorporates recesses in a rigid surface of a roller or in a rigid disk. As the roller or disk rotates or is moved across the soft surface to be cleaned, the roller or disk presses downward on the soft surface and compresses it. The soft surface decompresses to the original position when the soft surface is in contact with a surface of a recess and recompresses when the roller or disk presses downward again. The compression, decompression, and recompression, preferably in combination with a cleaning compound, provide the mechanical action necessary for removal of foreign material.

  • Patent number: 6321405
Abstract: The push brush carpet or hard surface cleaner of the present invention is preferably comprised of a cleaning brush with a round surface area to which cleaning bristles of any conventional size and shape are attached. In practice the brush is preferably pushed over the carpet or hard surface to agitate and/or expel a debris-laden cleaning solution that has been previously applied to the carpet or hard surface to accomplish cleaning. The cleaning solution can be any conventional chemical solution suitable for the purpose of carpet or hard surface cleaning, but the brush of the present invention is preferably used in conjunction with a dry powder or substantially neutral pH dry crystalline formula cleaning solution for carpets. Finally, the optional axle, bearing and wheel configuration permits easy disassembly of the brush to allow easy replacement of the brush and to permit accommodation of various brush sizes and bristle varieties.

  • Patent number: 6311354
Abstract: The push brush carpet or hard surface cleaner of the present invention is preferably comprised of a cleaning brush with a round surface area to which cleaning bristles of any conventional size and shape are attached. The brush is preferably attached to a frame by use of an axle, wheel and bearing configuration which permits locking of the axle in place at a given rotary position of the brush and also unlocking of the axle to permit rotation of the brush to a different position. In use, the rotary brush is locked in place in a given rotary position by the user, and a portion of the brush surface will come in contact with the carpet or hard surface as the user pushes the brush in a preferably reciprocating motion. In so doing, debris on the carpet or hard surface is agitated and/or expelled by the contacted area of the brush surface.

  • Patent number: 5427283
Abstract: A dispenser for powder or granular material which has a hopper for containing the material to be dispensed. The hopper includes an arcuate bottom member having a plurality of discharge openings. A wiper is positioned along the length of the bottom member and mounted to a rotatable shaft. The wiper includes a plurality of wiper elements mounted to the shaft each having at least one radially extending blade. The radial extent of each blade is sufficient to contact the openings during rotation of the shaft. Adjacent blades are mounted so as to be offset from each other. A drive is provided to rotate the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5308070
Abstract: A portable golf putt practice device for guiding a golfer to putt a golf ball toward a hole aids the golfer in swinging the putter along a straight line and hitting the ball along a desired path to the hole. Additionally, the golf putt practice device guides and conditions the golfer with respect to the putter and its movement and elevation along the device and is so formed that the improper elevation of the putter engages a portion of the device to emphasize the incorrect elevation and/or position of the putter immediately prior to hitting a golf ball adjacent thereto. The golf putt practice device comprises a lightweight relatively small portable device consisting of an elongated straight cross-sectionally round rod and a pair of shorter cross sectionally round rods positioned transversely of one end of the elongated rod and secured to said one end thereof in slightly elevated relation to the upper surface of the elongated rod.

  • Patent number: 4386444
Abstract: A device on which a rotary floor buffing machine may be positioned and operated to remove built up accumulations of wax and dirt from the buffing pad thereof arranges a slightly elevated flat machine receiving area defined by a circular wire grille having a plurality of radially positioned bars extending from an elevated center section to a plurality of circumferentially spaced raised support members with the area beneath the circular grille being open and capable of receiving wax and dirt removed from the buffing pad throughout the area.

  • Patent number: 3934882
Abstract: A thin, flat member longer than its width has parallel sides and one end formed at a right angle thereto and notched midway between the sides, the other opposite end being pointed. A visible line is formed on the longitudinal axis and extends from the mid portion of the notch on the one end to the apex of the pointed end. The upper surface of the thin flat member is preferably reflective material which enables a golfer to see whether or not his head is over the ball and improves the golfer's view of club head movement after striking the ball. The notch forms a location for a golf ball. The flat member may be creased along its longitudinal axis to facilitate folding. In use the golf guide forms a visual path for the golf club after the golf ball is hit together with a transverse plane of reference for alignment with the head of a golf club when the golf ball is hit.
