Publication number: 20080016258Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for a media platform. One method includes receiving DMA requests for connecting media data traffic to DMA slots of a DMA memory module. Available DMA slots are determined from a pool of available DMA slots and allocated for media data traffic. DMA slots are released to the pool of available DMA slots when a DMA slot is no longer being used. The method further includes using a TMC proxy to connect media data traffic between the DMA memory module and a DSP software module based on assigned DMA slots.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2007Publication date: January 17, 2008Inventors: Barry Coffin, Anne Bavazzano-Desbrieres, Michele Prieur, Jean-Alexis Berranger, Douglas Ferrin, Mark Somerville, Richard Ellison, Christophe Gavrel

Publication number: 20060043091Abstract: A cap for a container is provided. The cap comprises a cap body having a bottom wall, a first dispensing aperture extending through the bottom wall, a second vent aperture extending through the bottom wall, and a seal positioned on the cap body and extending in the first and second apertures. A closure member is pivotally connected to the cap body and pivots between a first closed position and a second open position. The closure member has a stopper and a protuberance. In the first position the stopper engages the first seal in the dispensing aperture to close the dispensing aperture, and the protuberance engages the second seal about the second aperture to close the vent aperture.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2004Publication date: March 2, 2006Inventors: Steven Pinelli, Richard Ellison, Donald Nole

Publication number: 20050123128Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for controlling the power level of voice signal streams. A gain controller embodiment includes a measurement module, a gain factor setting module, and a gain adjustment module. The measurement module includes program instructions to measure a power level of a voice signal stream. The gain factor setting module includes program instructions to set a gain value by comparing the measured power level to a threshold. The gain adjustment module includes program instructions to adjust a power level of a voice signal stream by applying the gain value to the voice signal stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2003Publication date: June 9, 2005Inventor: Richard Ellison

Publication number: 20050047556Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for media platform simulation. A method for testing a media platform includes selecting a number of scalable variables provided with a testing routine. The scalable variables are operable to define one or more application characteristics for different service applications. The testing routine is executed implementing the scalable variables. A performance of various media platform resources is measured while executing the testing routine. The measured performance is analyzed and can be output as categorized performance report data.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2003Publication date: March 3, 2005Inventors: Mark Somerville, Richard Ellison

Patent number: 4552992Abstract: The present system employs a high speed digital signal processor which is programmed to generate pairs of digitized waveforms, each pair representing a pair of different frequencies in response to coded input signals. Each pair of different digitized waveforms, when converted and combined into an analog signal, represents a "tone pair" as used in major telephone systems. The tone pairs are transmitted through an anti-aliasing filter circuit and therefrom through amplification circuitry to a tone pair decoder of the type used in major telephone systems. At the tone pair decoder the tone pair signals are reconverted into binary signals. The binary signals from the tone pair decoder are transmitted to a data processor in the system under test, whereat they may or may not be further decoded. Ultimately the binary signals are compared with the coded input signals originally sent.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1983Date of Patent: November 12, 1985Assignee: Digital Equipment CorporationInventors: Edward Bruckert, David Conroy, Richard Ellison, Martin Minow
