  • Publication number: 20070173104
Abstract: A device (30) for making electrically conductive contact with at least one tension member in an elevator belt (22) also provides a restraining feature to support loads on the belt. A connector portion (32) is secured to the belt. In one example, the connector portion (32) includes clamping members (40, 42) that are received on opposite sides of the belt. One of the clamping members supports a plurality of electrically conductive connector members (52) that establish electrical contact with selected tension members (24) within the belt (22). A plurality of load transferring members (66) are supported by the other clamping member in one example. A restraining portion (34) is adapted to be secured in a fixed position relative to a selected structure (36) within the elevator system.

  • Publication number: 20070147685
Abstract: In general, the invention is directed to data exploration and visualization techniques that allow a user to more easily apply multivariate statistical analysis to a dataset. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method comprising identifying a set of data clusters associated with two or more components of resolved data generated from a dataset by Multivariate Curve Resolution; and rendering a Principal Component Analysis scatter plot of the data clusters for principal components of the dataset using the data clusters identified from the MCR data.

  • Publication number: 20070073529
Abstract: An apparatus and method for simulation and testing of electronic systems using a single model that has the composite behavioral information of multiple parts. The single model allows the designer to simulate using one model that captures the anticipated extremes (best case behavior to worst case behavior) across a collection of devices from different vendors.

  • Publication number: 20060097370
Abstract: An electronic assembly and system and method implementing the same are disclosed herein. The electronic assembly includes an IC carrier package having circuitry contained within a housing unit. The IC carrier package includes a connector interface for electrically coupling the IC carrier package circuitry to a printed circuit board. The connector interface is further characterized as having a graduated step surface contour with one or more electrical contacts disposed on at least two graduated step connector surfaces of the connector interface. The electronic assembly further includes a multilayer printed circuit board having a mounting site cavity for mounting the IC carrier package. The mounting site cavity includes having at least two seating surfaces offset in a graduated step manner for receivably seating the at least two graduated step connector surfaces of the IC carrier package connector interface.

  • Publication number: 20050259807
Abstract: An intelligent network for providing access to an information network (80) has a number of central office switches (64, 82). Each central office switch (64, 82) is capable of receiving a call to a centrex telephone number and transmitting a query. A service control point (70) is coupled to the central office switches (64, 82) by a SS7 signal link (66). The service control point receives the query and transmits a response to the central office switch (64, 82). A hub switch (75) is coupled to the central office switches (64, 82) and receives the call. The hub switch (75) contains a digital trunk service (76) that combines the call with a number of other calls to form a data stream. The data stream is then transmitted to an information network node (80).

  • Publication number: 20050153584
Abstract: A high frequency connector utilizes flex strip signal/reference conductor pairs extending in channels formed in a dielectric connector body between terminations at connector ends. The flex strips are formed as signal and reference conductor traces separated by a flexible dielectric wherein the impedance can be influenced by the width of the signal and reference traces and the thickness and selected material of the dielectric separating the adjoining conductor traces. Design of the flex strip assemblies is used to vary the capacitance which enables the connector impedance to match the impedance of the circuits and/or cables connected to the connector and mitigate any discontinuities among the sequence of circuit paths. The close proximity of signal and reference traces within the pair and the separation of signal lines in the connector body reduces cross talk by minimizing mutual inductance between signal lines.

  • Patent number: 5002158
Abstract: A safety braking disk (56) is secured to rope drive sheave (14). First (52) and second (54) safety brake assemblies each operate on opposing parallel sides of the disk. Brake pads (60) are resiliently placed into engagement upon initiation of the safety. The safety is initiated upon car overspeed, movement with open car doors, or excess velocity in the leveling zone.

  • Patent number: 4111049
Abstract: Apparatus is described for securing vapor samples, particularly from articles such as suitcases, travel bags, packages, and the like. The apparatus may include several depressor arms hinged above a station along a conveyor belt or the like. A sampling probe for sampling vapor expelled from the articles is positioned at the station. As the articles are carried by the conveyor past the station, they lift the arms which are suitably hinged above them so that the weight of the arms causes a part of the vapor accumulated in the article to be expelled. The expelled vapor is sampled by the probe at the station and may be carried to a suitable vapor analyzer for test.
