The end assemblies include hingedly connected bottom, front, cover, rear, and front flap wall panel end flaps. The end flaps are moveable in the following order into a closed position over end portions of the tube. First, the bottom wall panel end flaps substantially close the tube end portions. Second, the front wall panel end flaps overlap a front portion of the bottom wall panel end flaps with a rear portion exposed. Third, the cover wall panel end flaps, including a recess in a rear lower corner thereof, overlap an upper portion of the front wall panel end flaps and an upper rear corner portion of the bottom wall panel end flaps, the recess leaving exposed an upper portion of the exposed rear portion of the bottom wall panel end flaps below the overlapped upper rear corner portion and rearwardly of the overlapped upper portion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1993Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: Gulf States Paper CorporationInventors: Jimmy J. Patent number: 5364333Abstract: A package comprising a consumable product and a sealed container containing the consumable product. The container is made up of a folded and sealed sheet of carton material having an opening therein defining a product-viewing window and a sheet of clear film material disposed over the opening so as to close the opening while retaining the product-viewing capability of the window. The clear film sheet has a marginal periphery disposed in lapped relation to a marginal periphery of the carton sheet and a wave energy curable adhesive between the marginal periphery of the clear film sheet and the marginal periphery of the carton sheet in a cured by wave energy condition bonding the clear film sheet over the carton sheet opening so that the bond cannot be rebonded by the cured adhesive once the bond provided by the cured adhesive between the sheets has been broken. The container is erected from a flat blank consisting of the carton sheet, the film sheet and the cured adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1993Date of Patent: November 15, 1994Assignee: Gulf States Paper CorporationInventors: Richard F. Patent number: 5265796Abstract: A plural compartment carton tray is constructed from a blank. The inner compartments are integrally interconnected and arranged in side-by-side relation to provide the carton blank with an exterior periphery having spaced exterior corners. At least two of the exterior corners having a gusset wall panel integral with adjacent side wall panels along two end fold lines extending in angularly related relation with respect to one another. The side wall panels are folded along the side fold lines in the same direction into an erected position while each of the gusset wall panels is folded along the associated angularly related end fold lines in opposite directions with respect to the associated pair of adjacent side wall panels so as to bring each gusset wall panel into surface-to-surface abutting relation with an end portion of one of the associated pair of adjacent side wall panels defined by one of the associated two end fold lines.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1992Date of Patent: November 30, 1993Assignee: Gulf States Paper CorporationInventors: Richard F. Gulliver, James R. Green

Patent number: 5058803Abstract: A carton comprising a cover structure formed from a cut and scored flat blank of carton material. The cover structure includes a top wall having a plurality of side walls extending therefrom along a straight common fold line therebetween within a plane defining an interior included angle with the top wall of less than 180.degree.. The cover structure includes a plurality of over center toggle action tabs having indicia operatively associated with each tab. Each over center toggle action tab is defined by cuts and edge lines formed in the top and side walls so as to contain a predetermined length of the common fold line therebetween which divides the tab into two tab sections. The cuts enable the peripheral edge portion of the tab defined thereby to move toward and away from the adjacent cut top and side walls while the peripheral edge portions of the tab defined by said edge lines hinge with respect to the adjacent top and side walls.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1990Date of Patent: October 22, 1991Assignee: Gulf States Paper CorporationInventor: Richard F. Patent number: 4552293Abstract: A flat blank of foldable sheet material cut and scored to be erected and secured into a container comprising a pair of peripheral wall forming sections and a bottom wall forming section integrally interconnecting the peripheral sections in spaced relation. The interconnection between the bottom section and peripheral sections is along straight parallel fold lines. The bottom section has a plurality of flaps formed integrally with the remaining periphery thereof between the corresponding ends of the parallel fold lines. The interconnection between the bottom section and each of the flaps is along a straight fold line defining a portion of the periphery of the bottom section. Each peripheral section includes opposed side portions disposed outwardly of the associated parallel fold line.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1983Date of Patent: November 12, 1985Assignee: Gulf States Paper CorporationInventors: Bobby W.
