Publication number: 20070204466Abstract: A bearing assembly is disclosed which addresses the problem of axially retaining a bearing journaled onto a shaft within a casing in an axially compact and technically economic and reliable way by first mounting a retaining plate (6) onto an outer race of the bearing (1). The mounting can be achieved by press fitting onto a shoulder so that the retaining plate can rotate relative to the outer race. The bearing is then journaled onto a shaft (4) and inserted into a compact casing (3) so that the outer race is guided into a housing (2) formed in an end wall of the casing (3). The retaining plate can then be rotated as required to align fastening bosses (7) with holes (8) to be engaged by screws (9) so that the retaining plate us urged axially against the outer race.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2007Publication date: September 6, 2007Applicant: NSK EUROPE CO. LTD.Inventor: Richard Fisk

Publication number: 20040208798Abstract: There is disclosed an adjustable germicidal system to be attached to an air handling apparatus. In one embodiment, an adjustable germicidal system comprises a first socket assembly adjustably coupled to a second socket assembly. The first socket assembly and the second socket assembly may be spatially adjusted with respect to one another in at least one dimension. A germicidal lamp is coupled to each of the socket assemblies. The adjustability of the socket assemblies allows the lamps to be placed in a desired alignment relative to one another and relative to one or more walls of the air handling apparatus. A single power cord is coupled to one of the socket assemblies.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2003Publication date: October 21, 2004Applicant: Steril-Aire USA, Inc.Inventors: Robson L. Patent number: 6483107Abstract: A casing of a computer peripheral enclosure. The casing has at least one compartment. Each compartment is rectangular and has a cross-sectional area and a depth. Each compartment also has two guide rail guides. A canister for use with a storage device includes a u-shaped tray which is rectangular and has a cross-sectional area and a depth. The canister has two guide rails. The cross-sectional area and the depth of the canister are slightly less than the cross-sectional area and the depth of each compartment. The u-shaped tray also has two side walls and a two return lips so that the u-shaped tray is able to slide freely, but snugly, into the compartment of the casing. Each guide rail is mechanically coupled to one of the side walls of the u-shaped tray walls. The guide rails of each u-shaped tray slides freely, but snugly, into one of the compartments on the guide rail guides thereof.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1999Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Inventors: Josef Rabinovitz, Eli Danino, Richard Fisk

Patent number: 6404641Abstract: A quick release latching mechanism is used with a combined carrier and a compartment of an enclosure. The quick release-latching mechanism securely couples the carrier and the device to a base. The quick release-latching device includes a mounting pin and a lever arm that the mounting pin pivotally mounts to one of the two side-walls of the base. The lever arm has a cut-portion in the shape of a short, rounded trough having a peripheral edge and, when pivotally mounted to the base, is disposed on the inside of the base on one of the two side-walls of the base so that, when the guide pins of the carrier have slided down the ramps of the cut-out portions of the two side-walls of the base and into the guide slots thereof, the peripheral edge of the cut-out portion of the lever arm entraps one of the guide pins of the carrier thereby securing the carrier and the device in place. The placement of the cover locks the quick release latching mechanism in place.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1999Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Inventors: Richard Fisk, William McDonough

Patent number: 5257650Abstract: An assembly of containers is provided for efficient and controlled storage of a reagent and subsequent mixing of the reagent with a reagent diluent. The assembly includes a reagent diluent container and a sealed reagent vial. An adapter assembly includes a coupler having one end mountable to the reagent diluent container and having the opposed end defining a hollow plunger. A retainer ring has one end mountable to the coupler and the opposed end mountable to the reagent vial. The reagent vial is engageable with the coupler in a first position and is advanceable into a second position relative to the adapter assembly such that the hollow plunger thereof displaces the seal of the reagent vial permitting the reagent in the reagent vial to flow through the hollow plunger to mix with a buffer or diluent in the reagent diluent container.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1992Date of Patent: November 2, 1993Assignee: Abbott LaboratoriesInventors: Richard Fisk, James Miller
