  • Patent number: 6872103
Abstract: The invention relates to a socket contact (1) including a back-up spring (3) and a base spring (2), the back-up spring (3) enclosing the base spring (2) in box-like manner with a first wall (11), a second wall (12), a third wall (13) and a divided fourth wall (14). The wall sections (14a, 14b) of the fourth divided wall (14) are connected to each other in positive fitting manner. On one wall section (14a), there are formed at least two connecting lugs (23) arranged in the front and rear portions of the wall section (14a) as seen in the direction of insertion of the socket contact (1). The other wall section (14b) is formed with a recess (24) for each connecting lug (23), and the connecting lugs (23) are passed through the recesses (24) and bent over. For increased stability, the two wall sections (14a, 14b) overlap over the full length of the back-up spring (3).

  • Patent number: 6238252
Abstract: A contact member contains a stamped/bent part having a line terminal element, a box-shaped intermediate region and a contact blade formed of two blade halves protruding from the latter. The blade halves and a top wall of the intermediate region are disposed in a developed view of the stamped/bent part one behind the other in alignment in a longitudinal direction with respect to a bottom wall of the intermediate region. As a result, as small a pitch as possible of stamped/bent parts on a sheet-metal strip is achieved. The contact blade is formed by folding together the blade halves at a transverse bending line resulting in a blade having twice the material thickness. The top wall of the intermediate region which is connected to one of the blade halves comes to lie between the side walls of the intermediate region and forms a closed rectangular box of high stability.

  • Patent number: 6217395
Abstract: A contact spring includes a bottom spring having a centrally disposed spring arm base formed by a rectangular frame. A connection part is formed onto one end of the spring arm base, for electrical conductors. Two spring arms are each formed onto broad sides of the spring arm base on the opposite end. The spring arms converge in a wedge-like manner toward a free end and after that widen into a plug-in funnel. The spring arms are each kept spaced apart in the region of the contact zone by respective indentations oriented toward one another and disposed on long edges. A detent sleeve surrounds the spring arm base and the spring arms formed thereon. An opening angle of the plug-in funnel, over its entire length, is &agr;≦30. The spring arms are shaped spherically in the vicinity of the contact zone and each form a respective contact dome.

  • Patent number: 6095698
Abstract: A hybrid connector with electric plug-in connections and fiber-optic demountable connections for an electronic built-in unit. The hybrid connector has a female connector and an angular male connector strip having long side walls. The female connector has a cover cap with module chambers for holding electric receptacle modules and fiber-optic modules. Electrooptical transducers having connecting leads with ends defining solder terminals are assigned to the fiber-optic connectors of the fiber-optic modules. The electrooptical transducers are disposed in a base of the angular male connector strip. The electrooptical transducers are aligned in a row parallel to the long side walls on a side on which solder terminals of the male connector strip are located. In this manner, the length of the connecting leads including the solder terminals is as small as possible.

  • Patent number: 5863225
Abstract: A top spring of a bush contact encloses a base spring like an enclosing box. The top spring is a stamped and bent part with a production-dictated longitudinal slit in the top wall (extending in a plug-in direction). To form a stable, closed box form of the top spring, the slit top wall parts are provided with a connecting tab, respectively at either end of the longitudinal slit. The connecting tab is joined to the respectively opposite top wall part by form lock and/or by force lock.

  • Patent number: 5769672
Abstract: In order to provide a contact preopening of two spring legs of a contact spring, at least one spring leg is provided in a contact zone with a cusp in the form of a protrusion pointing to the other spring leg in the region of at least one long edge. The cusp is formed by embossing, without cutting through material, so as not to create free cut edges that would be vulnerable to corrosion, and so as to prevent the introduction of a plug contact from being impaired by skewed contact preopening spacer elements.

  • Patent number: 5580260
Abstract: A connector is provided having a pin plug with a plurality of first socket contacts for connection to system wires. The connector also has a mated socket plug with a plurality of second socket contacts for connection to system wires. The pin plug and socket plug can be coupled together for connecting the first and second socket contacts with pins secured in the pin plug. A short-circuit bridge is integrated in the socket plug for short-circuiting two of the second contacts when the pin plug and socket plug are uncoupled. An electrical filter component is integrated in the pin plug, the filter component being connected in series between one of the first socket contacts and a respective second socket contact upon coupling.

  • Patent number: 5466168
Abstract: A two-legged contact spring with a spring base, at least one contact leg and a U-shaped bend is provided as a short-circuit bridge for the connection of two contact elements. The contact leg is freely yielding and has a projection which contactingly rests directly at a transitional region of the contact element. Therefore, the spring work is carried out exclusively by the short-circuit bridge. The spring form and position of the contact point ensures an optimal spring action at low operating forces.
