Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous lubricating composition comprising at least: water; from 0.01% to 10% by weight of at least one polysaccharide; from 0.1% to 10% by weight of at least one alkoxylated castor oil; from 0.1% to 10% by weight of at least one sulfur-containing and/or phosphorus-containing antiwear compound. The invention also relates to the use of the combination of at least one alkoxylated castor oil and of at least one phosphorus-containing and/or sulfur-containing antiwear compound in an aqueous lubricating composition comprising at least one polysaccharide, in order to improve its antiwear and/or extreme-pressure properties.
