Abstract: A nutating pump for creating pressure or a vacuum. The nutating pump includes a housing with a center support positioned within said housing. The center support includes a semi-spherical recess. The pump also includes a drive shaft adapted to be connected to an electric motor and an eccentric adapted to be connected to the drive shaft. The pump further includes a ball adapted to form a ball joint and is adapted to be positioned within the semi-spherical recess of said center support. In addition the pump includes a nutating yoke positioned within the housing. The yoke includes a semi-spherical recess adapted to accept said pivot ball. The nutating yoke is adapted to be connected to the eccentric, such that rotation of the eccentric causes the yoke to move about the ball.

Abstract: A nutating pump has a cross-type universal joint connecting a nutating member to a pump housing, ball joints connecting the nutating member to piston rods, and the piston rods fixed to piston heads so that the piston heads wobble in pump cylinders.

Abstract: A two-cylinder axial displacement wobble piston air compressor/vacuum pump (10) has a pair of open-ended cylinder sleeves (36) lining the pump chambers (34) of the housing (16).The cylinder sleeves are made of a pressed powder carbon graphite material that is impregnated with a phenolic resin. The wobble pistons (18) include a piston cup (48) made of a PTFE material and having a diameter sized to abut the bore of the cylinder throughout the compression and suction strokes of the piston.

Abstract: A personal, portable water filtering device is provided for use in filtering water taken from public drinking fountains, public wash basins or other public water sources. The preferred device includes a flexible attachment means for engaging the outlet of a water fountain, a tube connecting the attachment piece to a pump disposed between two check valves, a filter disposed between or within the pump and a tube connecting the filter to a mouthpiece. The user inserts the attachment means into the outlet of a water fountain or standing water supply which allows water to proceed up the first tube and into the hand-pump. The user then squeezes the hand-pump which forces water through the filter and the filtered water exits through the mouthpiece into the user's mouth. The device is lightweight and collapsible and will fit into the back pocket of athletic wear worn by joggers or other athletes.
