  • Publication number: 20230360378
Abstract: Methods and systems for measuring true positive and false positive matching rates for a given biometric engine within an operational environment are provided. In some examples, a test, or candidate, biometric engine may be executed, or utilized, in parallel with a production biometric engine, on biometric data that is available during live operation of the production biometric engine. Performance of a biometric engine can be assessed, as to both true positive and false positive matching. Additionally, where multiple biometric engines are assessed concurrently, a candidate biometric engine may be compared to performance of the production biometric engine to determine whether a change or upgrade is advisable.

  • Publication number: 20220370464
Abstract: The present invention is related to therapeutics and prophylactics for the treatment and/or prevention of ocular viral infections in humans and other mammals. Disclosed are methods of treating or preventing ocular viral infections in mammals, in particular caused by adenoviral infections, by administration of an effective amount of filociclovir (FCV).

  • Publication number: 20100126395
Abstract: Power is produced using fuel, preferably with a sulfur content larger than 1% wt, from raw and/or preprocessed oil residues which are burned alone, i.e. without any addition of sorbents, diluents or the like, with a CFB boiler, a pitch boiler or a downshot boiler to generate high pressure steam and/or power and residual emissions. Residual emissions are cleaned to simultaneously remove PM, NOx and SO2 therefrom. The sulfur in emissions can be used to produce sulfuric acid. The process uses a low cost fuel, generates steam, and/or power and sulfuric acid and meets all emission requirements for PM, NOx and SO2.

  • Publication number: 20060027488
Abstract: A fuel is produced from bitumen by precipitating a substantial portion of asphaltenes from bitumen by contacting the bitumen with a lower alkane solvent. Suitable burners include a fluidized bed boiler, a circulating fluidized bed boiler and a pitch boiler which utilize either pre-combustion sulfur sorbents or post-combustion flue gas desulfurization. The sulfur in emissions can be used to produce sulfuric acid. The process uses a low cost fuel, generates steam, power and sulfuric acid and meets all emission requirements for SO2, NOx and PM.

  • Patent number: 6401408
Abstract: A stake having first and second generally planar members intersecting along a common longitudinal axis extending from a leading end adapted for ground penetration to a trailing end with a striking surface includes a plurality of steps toward the trailing end adapted for supporting posts of varying diameters. Support pads extend in a circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis from the steps to provide a support surface for securing a posts of varying diameters and/or shapes with a fastener. In one embodiment, the stake includes a number of holes extending through at least one of the first and second members and the first and second members include scalloped edges with a common apex at the leading end. In another embodiment, the second member includes a triangular portion with an apex displaced relative to the apex of the first member which may include a triangular or trapezoidal portion.

  • Patent number: 4761147
Abstract: A ferrite plate is placed in the inner space formed by the front and rear shells of a multipin D connector. The ferrite plate is aligned with the insulator block in the inner space, and it has openings which are in alignment with the openings of the insulator block. Pins of the connector extend through the aligned openings of both the insulator block and the ferrite plate.

  • Patent number: 4392071
Abstract: The invention relates to a low current, low voltage generator for use in an underwater lighting system. The generator is driven by a commercially available source of power, for example, house current. The generator consists of an AC motor having an output shaft and a magnet mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith. A coil arrangement is disposed in a plane parallel with but spaced from the plane of the magnet. The magnet is cylindrical in shape and includes a slot in the front face which faces the coil arrangement. Thus, when the magnet is rotated, it produces an EMF in the coil arrangement to provide a low current low voltage AC output at the output of the coil arrangement, which can be rectified to provide a DC output if required.
