  • Patent number: 9212782
Abstract: A cryostat has a cryogen vessel retained within an outer vacuum container, the cryogen vessel being provided with a vent path allowing cryogen gas to escape from the cryogen vessel, the cryostat further having a thermal radiation shield interposed between the cryogen vessel and the outer vacuum container. The vent path is arranged such that escaping cryogen gas is directed through a conduit, which forms an integral part of a thermal radiation shield.

    Assignee: Siemens PLC
Inventors: Nicholas John Clayton, Richard Gowland, Edgar Charles Malcolm Rayner
  • Patent number: 9140768
Abstract: A mounting plate for locating under a superconducting magnet structure, between the superconducting magnet structure and a supporting surface of a mobile carrier, is controllable between two different states. In a first state, the mount provides rigid attachment and precise location of the superconducting magnet structure onto the supporting surface of the mobile carrier. In a second state, the mount provides vibration isolation between the superconducting magnet and the mobile carrier.

  • Publication number: 20090200905
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for mounting and retention of ancillary equipment to cover panels of a magnetic field generator of a magnetic resonance imaging system having a cryogenic refrigerator and/or liquid cryogen housed within at least an outer vacuum container, ancillary equipment, cables and conduits are attached to the magnetic field generator, by integrating the electronic assemblies, cables and conduits into a set of modular covers which are connected to each other on installation. The covers may be mechanically mounted directly to the OVC, enabling them to be quickly fitted either in the factory or on the user's site.

  • Publication number: 20070279169
Abstract: A container is described that is particularly suitable for use as a shim tray. An integral hinged lid and resilient member minimises the number of components that need to be handled during shimming of a superconducting electromagnet. The resilient member dispenses with the need for a selection of packers in order to retain the shims within the container. A slot allows shims to be inserted and retained by the member without removing the lid.
