  • Publication number: 20230047917
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to medium chain length polyhydroxyalkanoate (mcl-PHA) copolymers, and to chewing gum bases and chewing gums comprising the mcl-PHA copolymers. In some instances, the mcl-PHA copolymers may partially or completely replace conventional petroleum-based gum base polymers, including elastomers, in the chewing gum and gum base. The chewing gums and gum bases of the present disclosure may be free or substantially free of petroleum-based ingredients. Chewing gums comprising the mcl-PHA copolymers of the present disclosure may also have enhanced degradability as compared to conventional chewing gums.

  • Publication number: 20160212275
Abstract: A stable Low Power Mode (LPM) for multicarrier transceivers is described that at least provides transmit power savings while enabling receiver designs that can easily operate without the detrimental effects of fluctuating crosstalk. In one exemplary embodiment, the LPM achieves power savings by reducing the number of used subcarriers without actually performing a power cutback on those subcarriers, thereby allowing a receiver to measure the SNR or noise levels and determine the crosstalk noise on the line regardless of a crosstalking modem being in a LPM or not.

  • Publication number: 20150276367
Abstract: A metal framing layout square of substantially flat unitary construction and a method for using the same is provided. The square preferably includes an elongated blade, an elongated slot defined in the blade and parallel to the edges of the blade to provide two additional edges for the marking of measurement scales. The tool provides a tongue joined at a right angle to the blade. The metal framing layout square is preferably used with the layout phase of interior metal framed walls, and is directed to a metal framing layout square for use in constructing compound metal framing systems comprising a plurality of predetermined lengths and widths, and has slots which are to allow a user to readily mark a series of layout marks from a starting point to efficiently complete a set of markings for an entire framing structure with minimal need for secondary measuring devices.

  • Publication number: 20130051484
Abstract: At least one implementation herein enables at least two multicarrier apparatuses or nodes operating on overlapped frequency bands with different tone spacing to communicate. In particular, a first node may use a tone spacing that is less than the tone spacing used by a second node. The first and second nodes may communicate and are thus aligned when the second node transmits identical symbols over a time duration equal to a length of a symbol used by the first node.

  • Publication number: 20120246331
Abstract: A Home Network and Multimode Modem are provided for coupling devices of different standards/protocols for transmitting/receiving data over the Home Network. The modem is configured to transmit/receive data in both a first mode and a second mode. The first mode provides a first standard/protocol for Home Networking for transmitting and/or receiving data between devices of the Home Network and the second mode provides a second standard/protocol for Home Networking for transmitting/receiving data between devices of the Home Network. A controller dynamically switches the modem between the first and second modes.

  • Publication number: 20120057483
Abstract: Described herein are implementations related to data communication using a frame that includes at least two data packets. One of the data packets includes a preamble that is separated from a payload by a gap, void or empty space. Another of the data packets includes a preamble that is aligned with the gap, void or empty space. A receiver of the frame may perform channel measurements during the gap, void or empty space.

  • Patent number: 8072957
Abstract: A method for incorporating dynamic orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (“OFDM”) in wireless networks is provided. Information about a wireless channel between a transmitter and one or more receivers communicating according to a wireless protocol is acquired. Dynamic OFDM allocations are generated based on the acquired information about the wireless channel. The dynamic OFDM allocations are transmitted to the one or more receivers according to the wireless protocol.

  • Publication number: 20100299582
Abstract: An input estimator is based on a combined MFDQ-DF and trellis for use in, for example, an ADSL environment. In particular, for an ADSL implementation, the system will have one feedback tap for the decision feedback. However, it should be appreciated that the idea and basic concept of using the structure of a trellis to aid in determining the feedback point can be extended to any system using a feedback equalizer to estimate input to a trellis decoder.
