  • Publication number: 20090208357
Abstract: An improved external rotary gear pump for use with non-lubricating fluids such as amine is disclosed. The device uses specially coated internal parts chosen to reduce friction and improve wear characteristics so that the resulting pump will operate for a minimum warranty period of one year.

  • Publication number: 20020125967
Abstract: An air dielectric backplane interconnection system is disclosed. The interconnection system disclosed is a high speed backplane interconnection system having a plurality of conductor matched impedance transmission line elements and an air dielectric surrounding the plurality of transmission line elements. An interconnection system also having spacers disposed between the transmission line elements and a ground plate is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5492556
Abstract: A method and apparatus for powering a fluid pump (P) for circulation of a regenerated liquid absorber from a treating vessel or regenerator (R) to a liquid/gas contacting vessel (T) where the liquid absorber removes a predetermined component from a gas. The fluid pump (P) is driven by a shaft from fluid motor (M) and an auxiliary electric motor (E, E-1) assisting the fluid motor (M). The fluid pump (P) receives the entire output of regenerated liquid absorber from the regenerator (R) for pumping the regenerated liquid absorber to the contacting vessel (T). A bypass fluid conduit (49, 48) is utilized for initial circulation of glycol during the start up operation. A glycol measuring device (42) is effective for removing trapped air in conduits (18, 15) between the reboiler (R) and the contactor (T), and in bypass conduits (48, 49) in addition to measuring the flow rate for the liquid absorber.

  • Patent number: 4353210
Abstract: A valve comprises a diaphragm and a diaphragm housing with a cover plate peripherally sealed against the diaphragm. The cover plate has a pressure port communicating therethrough for receiving a pressurized fluid. A reciprocable member contacts a side of the diaphragm opposite the cover plate and is reciprocable towards and away from the cover plate. A valve body carries the reciprocable member and has a valve seat and a discharge port therein. A valve closure member is carried by the diaphragm housing. Springs resiliently bias the valve body towards the diaphragm housing so the valve seat is normally in sealing engagement with the valve closure member. The valve closure member is movable away from the valve seat, to permit a fluid to pass between the closure member and the valve seat and out of the discharge port, when the pressure of a fluid from the pressure port against the diaphragm and the pressure of fluid on the closure member are sufficient to deflect the springs.

  • Patent number: 4161337
Abstract: A portable folding orthopedic seat unit for use on a chair, automobile seat, or the like. A semirigid seat member is hinged to a back member. Vertical rigid support means extends from the bottom to the top of the back member and supports a back-support assembly, comprising two separate, generally elliptically-shaped, padded back-support members, spaced apart from each other, and a substantially vertically rigid and laterally flexing connecting member joining them together. The connecting member serves to transfer forces from one back-support member to the other. Releasable locking means holds the assembly at a selected vertical position on the rigid support means.

  • Patent number: 4093141
Abstract: A remotely controllable device for shooting fiberboard spacers, one at a time, between a selected slit web or strip and its coil, which strip is slit with other strips from a wider sheet or web. The shooting device is horizontally pivoted on a carriage movable along a boom, which boom is swingable about a vertical axis into and out of position under the strips or slit webs being recoiled. The device contains a magazine for storing a plurality of fiberboard spacers which are selectively fed between fast rotating rollers that shoot the spacers between the strip and its coil thereof. A control panel is provided for raising and lowering the spacer projecting end of the device to correspond with the increased diameter of the rewound strip coils, and to move the device along the boom across the parallel strips to select the strip or strips that are sagging and require spacers to make them taut as the other strips are taut as these strips are simultaneously wound on a common mandrel of the recoiler.
