Abstract: A golf putter with a shaft having an inner chamber, a butt-end, and a tip, a grip attached to the butt-end of the shaft, a weight in the shaft having a predetermined center point along the shaft, with that center point positioned along the shaft between 20 and 71.4 length % from the butt-end relative to an overall length of the golf putter, and a putter head connected to the tip of the shaft, with the putter head bearing a weight ratio to the shaft weight ranging between 0.56:1 and 3.20:1 and a shaft weight ratio to an overall weight of the golf putter ranging between 0.30:1 and 0.55:1, which after all elements are connected and attached presents a specific balance point for the golf putter ranging between 45.71 and 69.29 length % from the butt-end relative to the overall length of the golf putter and a swingweight between D-6 and negative E-9.

Abstract: An improved golf club having pre-structured alignments between shaft, grip, and head. This structure encompasses a plurality of sides between shaft, grip, and head. One such side is an impact-alignment surface and is on a single plane between shaft, grip, and head. Another side is a target-alignment surface which is on another single plane between shaft, grip, and head. The impact-alignment surface is perpendicular to a striking face of the golf club and to the target-alignment surface. The golf club also has a mounting structure for mounting grip and head to shaft which accurately registers the respective aforesaid alignment surfaces. The mounting structure comprises mating sides between shaft, grip, and head; or cooperating depressions and projections on shaft, grip, and head.

Abstract: An apparatus for fitting golf club length and head-to-shaft angle to an individual person. The fitting club shaft is in two telescoping portions. A conventional grip is provided at the end of the first portion and the end of the second portion is pivotally connected to a conventional club head. A generally "L"shaped electrically insulating panel has one leg extending into the second shaft portion and the other leg extending into a cavity in the head. A first series of longitudinally spaced electrical contacts on the first end are adapted to be contacted by a connection contact on the movable first shaft portion to send an electrical signal indicating club length. A second series of spaced electrical contacts are radially arranged on the second leg about the shaft pivot point. The second series of contacts is adapted to be contacted by a second connection contact to send an electrical signal indicating head-to-shaft angle. A person grasps the fitting club grip and assumes a normal golf stance.

Abstract: A golf club having a mechanism permitting adjustment of the shaft angle relative to the club head. Fixed stops limit the range of angular adjustment. The body of the club head has a central opening extending to the sole of the club. The opening is closed by a sole plate that requires a special tool for removal and reinstallation. A serrated surface secured to an extension of the club shaft within the opening mates with a corresponding serrated surface secured to the club head. The angle of the shaft relative to the head is locked by installing the sole plate which forces the two serrated surfaces together. In order to change the shaft-to-head angle, the sole plate must be loosened sufficiently to permit the cooperating serrations to disengage and be moved relative to each other.

Abstract: A golf club with a shaft angularly adjustable relative to the head through selected angles. A special tool must be used to allow any angular adjustments between shaft and head. A structural stop limits the maximum and minimum angles of adjustment between the head and shaft.

Abstract: A golf club that produces a smoother stroke, does not attempt to turn in the golfer's hands, and provides superior feedback to the golfer comprises a putter head, a shaft, and a grip. The putter head comprises an elongated body having a toe end, a heel end, a fore side including a ball striking face, an aft side opposite said fore side, a sole, and a top side. A longitudinal axis runs heel to toe parallel with the ball striking face. The head includes two chambers that increase the proportion of heel and toe mass relative to the center mass and decrease the transverse cross sectional area of head material and thereby increase vibration up an attached shaft upon ball impact. The chambers each exit the top side in a transverse slot. The transverse slots are approximately a ball width apart and equal distance on each side of the center of mass of said head. The entire putter is balanced so as to be more stable in a golfer's hands. A neutrally balanced putter has no moment about the shaft axis.
