  • Patent number: 10947905
Abstract: A system for pump assist to maximize fuel consumption in a natural gas powertrain includes a fuel delivery system including a natural gas storage tank supplying a first natural gas flow, a pressure sensor disposed to provide data regarding a natural gas pressure within the storage tank, and a natural gas pump operable to selectively boost the first natural gas flow to create a second natural gas flow with increased pressure. The system further includes an engine operable to utilize one of the natural gas flows to provide an output torque and including a fuel injector and a computerized fuel system controller programmed to monitor the data regarding the natural gas pressure within the storage tank, compare the data regarding the natural gas pressure within the storage tank to a threshold cut-off pressure for the fuel injector, and command activation of the natural gas pump based upon the comparing.

  • Patent number: 7234451
Abstract: A dual fuel pump fuel extraction system for saddle fuel tanks. A primary modular reservoir assembly (MRA) includes an electric primary fuel pump located in the primary sump of a saddle fuel tank and a secondary MRA including an electric secondary fuel pump located in the secondary sump of the saddle fuel tank, wherein both the primary and secondary fuel pumps extract fuel from the primary sump and simultaneously transfer fuel between the primary and secondary sumps so as to thereby ensure both the primary and secondary fuel pumps have fuel, without starving one before the other, until fuel becomes depleted from the saddle fuel tank.

  • Patent number: 5711508
Abstract: A quick connect fluid coupling equipped with a check valve and a service valve includes a housing that has a primary passage and an auxiliary passage arranged in a T-shape construction. The primary passage is provided with a check valve and an outlet end adapted to receive a male connector member in a locking engagement. The outlet end is arranged at 90.degree. with the inlet end of the primary passage. The auxiliary passage is equipped with a service valve adapted for receiving a fluid pressure detecting head at an outlet end and shares the same inlet end with the primary passage.

  • Patent number: 5086860
Abstract: A motor vehicle having a battery supported on a cantilevered tray within the vehicle's engine compartment wherein the vibrations otherwise experienced by the unsecured distal end of the tray is dampened by a substantially rigid bracket which engages the distal end of the tray, overlies the battery so as to retain it in the tray and also engages a vehicle body member. The damper-retaining bracket is preferably integral with an enclosure which encompasses the battery and shields the battery from engine compartment heat. The enclosure will preferably comprise hollow walls for also insulating the battery from such heat.
